One to pack a saw for.

Today’s adventure, the Upper Carron ( Strathcarron) with @cameron_forry as a spontaneous alternative to a dry Grudie.

Paddling at 1.4m on the SEPA gauge which is ‘high’ in the guidebook but felt like a great level. Enough to float and not enough to make tree hazards significantly worse.

Note that there is a nasty river wide tree blockage about 250m upstream of the get out. Portagable on both banks.

Also a HUGE shoutout to the awesome team @nitewatches who have not only supported me for years but recently helped replace my lost GoPro, as well as an Alpha Z watch, very excited to put both heavily through their paces this winter. by @nitewatches

The next big drop on the Douchary is a 9m straight huck into a deep pool. I definitely have a little to work on with my aerial control with a little over rotation on the way down. Having sat on the lip of this drop in dry conditions, swam the pool, walked past it and wondered, it felt pretty amazing to be there and in a boat. Some clean and inspiring lines by each of us, taking turns between running it, safety and photo positions. by @nitewatches

Walking into the River Douchary - a remote river in the north west and the headwaters to the Ullapool which runs past my house.

I’ve been dreaming of this moment and the excitement / trepidation that it brings for 20 years, ever since stumbling across this river with @seumas_nairn as teenagers.

I’m not going to lie I was extremely stoked to be here. Even more so with @liam_mean_green_machine @cameron_forry and @dirtbagjack - a very strong team and a lot of laughs.

Thanks to our friends at @eastrhidorroch we drove in to bypass the 11km walk up the track. A comparatively short 5km shoulder over the hills was rewarded with a fully floatable ditch for a kilometre down to the confluence. by @nitewatches

🏃‍♂️🔥 30 miles. 8 hours 13 minutes. One incredible team effort.
