When wood is out of reach, this internet connected device knocks on wood for you.

Sundial for your phone. Hold a finger to the screen, the shadow falls where it would in real life, calculated from your GPS and compass.

A dedicated writing environment, built on IOS, retrofitted on a Magic Keyboard using a print-in-place foldable dock. The writing setup allows no copy / paste, no auto correct, akin to a typewriter. The interface is stripped to its core function, for the singular act of writing, without any technological assistance.

We tried messing with more tinkery writer deck setups with raspberry pies, but ended up using the computer that we always have in our pockets instead. We built a custom app to enable the desired software restrictions and a simple magsafe compatible 3D printed hinge to slip onto the keyboard that we love. By making the most out of the IOS shortcuts capabilities, we were able to auto enable ‘do not disturb’ whilst in the app and add a quick launch button on the lockscreen, optimizing it for writing first thing in the morning.

The writer app was built using Gemini 3 on Google Antigravity and Xcode.

Write to us if you would like to test drive our writer deck. iPhone writer deck taken in New York, New York by @nithin.dony
