It takes a big heart to teach little minds📚

On May 19th,
I received my MS in Special Education. At a young age, I always knew I wanted to be someone who could change lives and inspire others to learn and grow. Today, I am proud to say that I am now a Special Education teacher in the very hometown where I grew up, serving as a role model to my 13 amazing students.

To my village,
Thank you for being here with me and watching me grow into the person I am today. Thank you for celebrating every accomplishment and cheering me on as I made it to the finish line.

To my sorority,
I am honored to call myself a FINERWOMAN. I chose Zeta Phi Beta because of our four principles, but the one that stood out to me the most was scholarship. The value and importance placed on education motivated me to complete my degree. Now, with the education I’ve earned, I am able to serve my community as an educator and help students succeed in a school system where too many people underestimate their potential.

To God,
Thank You for watching over me and guiding me along this journey. Even during my lowest moments in school and in life, I never lost faith in You. Whenever I felt like giving up, I felt Your presence pushing me to keep going. You are my Creator, the Author of my life, and I am grateful for everything You have written so far.

This is for the generations before me and the generations after me. I will not stop until my path is wider, my table is bigger, and my future is brighter.
