As always a huge thank you to @ozjabur @csn.watch for turning your vision into something tangible. The ground we tread upon is paved by your hands brother so thank you. Today I wanted to clarify and expand upon my words spoken after my fight just in case people decided to listen to me… see I spoke about fighting being an all or nothing kind of sport in the way that your either not competing, or your competing to be the best. Not necessarily to fight the champ, but fighting to me has always been an act of “no matter what happens, I MUST survive”. By the time fight day comes along it’s not “I’m ready to face my opponent” it’s actually “I am ready to face anything.” I find that sensical. To go into an environment of high chaos and danger half heartedly will never amount to lasting success unless your die are weighted by a god. So I encouraged hard work, to look after yourself, with acknowledgement to the truth about combat which includes both consequences and insane competitiveness. This is all well and true but I feel like I missed the other half of the coin. My words furthered is firstly this. Have some damned patience with yourself. I know it isn’t easy but realise some things. This isn’t a rush, it’s art… YOUR ART, your expression of soul. Who you and how you are, it just is. Accept yourself. Cultivate some focused presence of mind and give yourself the grace of good time to learn. Frustrations are distracting. Don’t be in a hurry to reveal yourself. Savour the taste of your journey and your learning, this! Satisfaction of the process and patience with oneself is the granter of freedom. From a place of freedom your presence and attention to your craft deepens. AND. You live free. You are who you are, you come as you come. So be yourself, as no one can do you better. There was time when I struggled to accept who I was, I remember that time quite vividly, so one last message from me. Finding the strength and the courage everyday to keep breathing and to remain on earth. Know that that, is all you ever need do, for me to be proud of your efforts. What follows is a bonus and my honour to witness - fill your soul, free your spirit, shine once more. Aniwaniwa. taken in Eventfinda Stadium by @niwa_barlow
