2026 has been transformative & it felt like a year where every wedding I was entrusted to was tangibly different from the next.

I spend a lot of time coaching photographers to adapt and trust their instincts, and this season has asked me to practice both over and over again.

I never want to walk into someone’s day trying to blueprint the wedding prior. You could try to define my style into any xyz buzzword? but when it comes down to it, my style is, you.

That has always been the point & that’s what I can promise you.

Some weddings are not planned as much as they are uncovered.
Slowly. Tenderly. Layer by layer.

Kate + Jake’s day felt like something the meadow had been holding for them long before any of us arrived. Like the mountains already knew. Like the wildflowers had been waiting. Like every path, every breeze, every golden piece of light was conspiring to bring them back to the center of what has always mattered most: love, family, presence, devotion.

There was something sacred about the way this day unfolded.

A ceremony in the round.
No beginning. No end.
Just everyone gathered close, encircling them in witness, in prayer, in celebration, in the kind of love that does not perform — it simply is.

And somewhere in the middle of the timelines, the design meetings, the meadow walks, the mocktail names, the floral dreams, the weather watching, the tiny decisions, the big feelings, and all the pieces that had to be carried with so much care… this wedding became so much more than a wedding to me.

Kate + Jake became so much more than clients.

They became friends.
The kind of people you do not just plan for, but root for.
The kind of love story you do not just design around, but feel honored to stand near.

To be trusted with a day this personal, this emotional, this alive — that is never lost on me. To help create the space where two people step fully into their next chapter, surrounded by the people who shaped them and the land that held them, is the kind of work that reminds me why I do this.

Kate + Jake, your wedding was not just beautiful.

It was rooted.
It was reverent.
It was wildly, unmistakably yours.

As a mother of five, I thought I had a pretty good understanding of what it means to juggle a lot of moving pieces at once. 😅

But this wedding gave me a whole new appreciation for a different kind of hard.

Throughout the day, I watched Samantha @nixevents_co coordinate countless details, solve problems before anyone else even knew they existed, keep vendors on the same page, answer questions, adjust timelines, and somehow make it all look effortless.

There were so many moments where I found myself thinking, “I couldn’t be paid enough to handle all of this.”

Yet somehow she carried the weight of the day with so much grace and calm, even when things weren’t going exactly according to plan.

Most guests only get to see the beautiful end result, but getting a behind-the-scenes look at everything that goes into a wedding like this left me in complete awe.

It was such a privilege to witness the care, creativity, and hard work that went into bringing this day to life. 🤍
