It’s crazy how history can repeat itself. Almost five years ago, I tore my left ACL through my meniscus for the first time. Back then, I thought that was the hardest thing I’d ever have to go through. The pain, the surgery, the long recovery it really changed everything for me. I had to learn patience, rebuild my strength, and find confidence in my body again.

And now, here I am going through it all over again😢💔.

Tearing my right ACL and meniscus a second time hits different. It’s not just the physical pain nor it’s the mental battle of knowing exactly what’s ahead. The rehab, the slow progress, the days where it feels like too much. But this time, I’m not the same person I was five years ago.

I’m stronger now💪🏾. I know what it takes to come back. I’ve already proven to myself that I can push through something like this, even when it feels impossible. This injury doesn’t erase the progress I’ve made!!! It just adds another chapter to my story.

Yeah, it’s frustrating. Yeah, it’s hard. But I’ve done this before, and I’ll do it again only this time, I’m coming back even stronger, mentally and physically.

This isn’t the end of my story. It’s just another comeback👏🏾👏🏾. by @niya_918

First I want to thank God because without him I would not be here today! I want to thank my parents and brother for being my biggest fans during my career. Been my day 1’s since I started playing volleyball. Pushing me to strive and motivating me for better. I want to thank Coach Bailey for being the first coach to allowing me to play a position that I am best at. She believe and knew I can go D1 and saw potential in me. I also want to thank Coach Denny for giving me a chance to play volleyball in the 6th grade and also Coach Wells for allowing me to play all positions my freshman year. Lastly, I want to thank Coach Jill, Mrs. Candice (my athletic trainer), my KCC teammate and my friends. I appreciate you guys so much and will miss you guys. Thank you for always being there for me when I was at my lowest and to my highest. Papa & Granny I did it, my dreams finally came true🥹! Love you all and now it’s time to push for BIGGER & BETTER goals👏🏾❤️! by @niya_918
