Auntie’s Home is entering a new chapter.
We are rebuilding to strengthen support for trans and nonbinary individuals—creating safe spaces, stability, and real opportunities to thrive.

This is more than funding.
It’s about community, healing, and moving forward together.

“Building Trust Through Visibility, Storytelling, and Community Engagement for HIV Prevention” was bigger than a presentation. It was about making sure trans and nonbinary people are truly seen, heard, respected, and included in the decisions that impact us.

I’m also extremely thankful to @flux_ahf and @aunties_home_md for helping make this trip and this opportunity possible. Being able to show up, represent, and have these conversations on a national platform meant so much to me. taken in Anaheim Convention Center by @niyaniya_24

I’m excited to be presenting at the 2026 U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS in Anaheim, California!

This one is a little extra special for me. While this isn’t my first time presenting at USCHA, it will be my first time stepping onto a platform this big fully representing Auntie’s Home, with no other organization attached to my name. That means a lot to me because Auntie’s Home is something we’ve built from the ground up, and being able to bring our name, our work, and our voice into this space is definitely a proud moment.

My session, “See Us Trans: Building Trust Through Visibility, Storytelling, and Community Engagement for HIV Prevention,” is a conversation that means a lot to me because it reflects the work I’ve been doing in community for years.

We’re going to talk about what it really takes to build trust with transgender communities, why our stories and visibility matter, and how we can create HIV prevention efforts that actually reach and connect with the people we say we want to serve.

If you’re going to be at USCHA this year, come sit in on my session! I would love to see some familiar faces in the room and meet some new ones too.

Come ready to learn, share, and have a real conversation.

See y’all in Anaheim! 🏳️‍⚧️💜 by @niyaniya_24

Still processing everything from this past week’s AMAZING House and Ballroom Leadership Summit that opened up DC Black Gay Pride. Huge thank you to @nmachiv , @gileadsciences @ctr4blackequity, @destinationtomorrow452 , and @ushelpingus for creating space for these important conversations and allowing me to present alongside one of my favorite girls, Miss Kaniya Walker, VP of @flux_dc .

Thank you to everybody who came to our session and poured into the room with your brilliance, creativity, honesty, and lived experiences. The conversations around prevention, harm reduction, mental health, nightlife, culture, and community engagement were so necessary.

One thing about Ballroom… we will ALWAYS produce some of the most innovative, resilient, and creative thought leaders. The ideas are already in the room. Now it’s time for us to continue pushing those ideas forward and creating the change our communities need and deserve.
