POSTS STORIES REELS

FROM THE KOREAN SEA TO ONDO 🌊🤍

A little piece of Korea has found its way to Brussels.

During our recent trip to South Korea, we travelled to Seonjaedo (선재도), a small island off the western coast, to meet the artisans behind Ongjin Craft Cooperative (옹진공예협동조합).

Founded by 안숭환 (Ahn Soonghwan) and 김숙미 (Kim Sukmi), this beautiful project brings together traditional Korean craftsmanship, nature, and a deep love for their local heritage.

What makes their ceramics so special? They use 갯벌 (gaetbeol), natural mud from Korea’s tidal flats, to create unique textures and earthy colours. Each piece carries a little piece of the Korean sea.

At ONDO, we‘ve always believed that every cup tells a story. That’s why we‘re so happy to share their craftsmanship with you, from the cups we serve your coffee in to the pieces you can bring home.

Our very first limited Korean ceramic collection is now available at ONDO!

Business trip, hospital tour, new friends, unexpected moments 🇰🇷
2 weeks of chaos, beautiful people, way too many stories and somehow not enough time.

Exhausted, grateful, slightly delusional… and already missing Korea. 🤍 by @nji.oh

Archives of my life before the coffee shop ONDO ✨

It’s been a while since I posted something this personal.

Recently, I was talking with a friend about my life before ONDO, and it suddenly hit me how much had actually happened before this new chapter started.

So many projects, places, people, friendships, trips, ideas, beautiful moments… and somehow, I barely shared any of it here.

It made me feel a little nostalgic. Not in a “I want my old life back” kind of way. More like… wow, that was my life too.

I’m actually terrible at keeping photos. I delete everything, and I’ve had my phone stolen more times than I’d like to admit 😭. So somehow, Instagram became one of the only places where I still have traces of certain chapters of my life.

For a long time, I didn’t really like sharing too much of my personal life online. I preferred keeping things private & separate

But lately, I’ve started seeing it differently.

Maybe sharing isn’t always about showing everything.
Maybe sometimes it’s simply a way of keeping a trace.

So here are a few archives from my life before ONDO.

And also a little thank you to all the people who were part of it. Some of you are still very much in my life. Some of you I haven’t spoken to in years. Some friendships ended, some paths simply went in different directions, and some people were only there for a short chapter.

But I genuinely believe every encounter leaves something behind.

Every friendship, collaboration, love, disagreement, adventure, disappointment or random meeting taught me something and helped shape the person I am today.

So thank you to the people from that life, and thank you to the people who are part of this new one too. 🤍

Obviously, I couldn’t put everyone in one post and I also don’t really like posting people without asking them first so this is just a tiny selection from the archives ✨

Good Goodbye✨👋 by @nji.oh

Bientôt 9 mois qu’Ondo est ouvert. @ondo.brussels

Épisode 5/5 : @ondo.atelier by @nji.oh

Bisous

A lot of you have been asking if ONDO will ever have merch ✨✨

To be honest, we’ve never really seen ourselves creating classic branded merchandise like t-shirts, caps or mugs.

If we create objects, we’d rather they feel like an extension of ONDO’s universe something meaningful, handmade, and connected to the stories, crafts, and memories that inspire us.

As many of you know, we also run ONDO Atelier, a space dedicated to craft, creativity, and handmade objects. It felt only natural for our first souvenir to be something connected to that spirit: something made by hand, with care and heart.

We’re happy to introduce our Lucky Knot Keyrings with @ondo.brussels ✨

Inspired by traditional Korean maedup (decorative knotting), each piece is handmade and decorated with beads imported from Asia, featuring one of the 12 animals of the Asian zodiac.

Every Lucky Knot is unique so no two are exactly the same.

✨ Pre-orders are also open!
Send a message to @ondo.atelier if you’d like to reserve yours.

And this is only the beginning…

More ONDO souvenirs are coming soon.

One project we’re especially excited about is creating a fragrance inspired by ONDO a scent inspired by Korea, tea, coffee, wood, and all the little memories that make this place what it is.

Would you be interested in an ONDO perfume or home fragrance?
