AASHE 2026 Recap ➡️

Our four amazing student sustainability leaders had the opportunity to present their work on the NJIT campus with an international conference for sustainability in higher education.

This past weekend in Baltimore showcased how universities across the world are dedicated to tackling the challenges of our modern world and using universities as a platform to find innovation and intersectional solutions to the climate crisis while educating and empowering the next generation of leaders.

We left feeling inspired, uplifted, and confident that our work in Newark is making a difference!

NJIT just earned a STARS GOLD rating!

We are officially one of the top-rated campuses in the country for sustainability, and the first public university in NJ to hit gold!

This rating is just the beginning! We are continuing to commit to sustainability and find ways to make our campus more sustainable.

We are always looking for student input on how to make our campus more sustainable, our DMs are always open to your suggestions 🤗🌱💚

🏆✨🌱Sustainability Leader Spotlight :
Huge congratulations to Audrey Kormann on receiving the Lisa A. Pierce Student Leader of the Year Award at NJIT!

Audrey has spent this past year building the first-ever EcoHighlanders and Green Teams programs from the ground up, inspiring students and staff across campus to take action and lead their own sustainability initiatives.
We are beyond proud to have her on our team. Congratulations!! 🎉

1 week ago today 🌍!

Our Earth Day Fair was a hit! We couldn't have done it without all the amazing orgs, departments, researchers, and more who showed up to educate the community!

We hope you'll continue supporting sustainability and show up to our final event of the semester next Tuesday. Either way, good luck on your end of the semester everyone! 💚

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to @mithorestaurantnj for the food.
