July was choc full of exciting things, so I've been mostly off grid, but I don't want to let the month end without acknowledging a very special occassion!

This month my dad turned the big 80!!! 🥳🎂👏

I've been joking that he can now officially get his Jr. Wizards hat ✨️... I think he loved that 😬

He's a man who's never been shy of a dance, a sing song, an adventure, and in his retirement, a technological challenge (but please, for the love of God, stop messing with the settings on the computer, I don't know how to fix it)

His first words to my mother over 50 years ago were "Would you like to dance?", to which she replied "Can you Jive?"... and in his own words, they've been Jiving ever since (always said with a wink).

He has perfected a stellar line of dad jokes in this vein 🤌

Thank you dad for all of your support! and the inordinate amount of ice pops you've gifted your grandkids when we weren't watching. We're all very lucky to have you! Love you lots 💖Xxx by @njnoone

Highlights of @galwayfilm fleadh☘️✨️

I loved being part of @stowestorylabs workshop @galwayfilm !

Such a brilliant team of mentors, speakers and participants. I'm full to the brim with ideas and knowledge to apply to my feature and so grateful for the encouragement and enthusiasm from everyone I've met over the Fleadh. Community and collaboration are the greatest tonic!

Frank Berrys 'The Lost children of Tuam' was a stunning film. An incredibly heartbreaking story told with such sensitivity and grace. It had me in absolute bits. To hear Frank talk in his masterclass afterwards about his process, and where he comes from as a teacher, filmmaker, and advocate for social change, was incredible, and his empathy and dedication are so genuinly inspiring.

I also caught the wonderful Mexican feature Vanilla, about four generations of women living together through hard times and precious moments. A film full of life and love.

So lucky to live in Galway and have such a wealth of creativity and connection on my doorstep.

Thank you so much! @galwayfilm ❤️ by @njnoone
