What a time - Tongaaa!

Collaborative efforts by all who have been tagged, this film is a long one, but make sure to watch it all ... it just gets better and better!

If you haven't swum with whales yet, make sure you add it to your bucket list. It is the most sobering, dreamy experience you have to have yourself.

Tears, hugs, ripped suits and laughter were shared together, and I would do it all over again!

38 seconds from my 38th trip around the sun (very much belated!)

It was a weird year. Learnt a lot, laughed a lot, cried a lot. 38 things - in no particular order…..
•
Travelling through Colombia • VisitingThe Kingdom of Tonga • Meeting Humpback whales • Whale song vibrations • Heat run madness • Visiting the Tree of life in Eua • Reconnecting with old friends •Falling head over heels in love with Santa Monica • Experiencing Mardi Gras in NOLA • Being fully off grid for a week • Embracing cold plunges • Losing important friendships & learning to move forward • Being brave • Being honest with myself • Side hustling to pay for new adventures • Scars tell a story • Discovering my love for painting • Discovering I’m a shocking painter • Painting regardless • Your body clock is brutal - listen to her! • Accepting my body can’t do the main job it’s designed to • Working at being a ‘yes’ person • Also learning the power of ‘no’ • Being the best Auntie Nics I can be • Discovered I enjoy running • Quickly learnt I’m a terrible runner • Working hard to be a better runner • Any occasion deserves champagne • The search for the best espresso martini continues • Learning to stand up for myself • Don’t save stuff for best - use it/ wear it/ drink it! • Had my soul assessed by the Colombian Mamo • Making plans for the chapter after Cayman • Trying to see as many sunrises as sunsets • There is very little that can’t be fixed by the sea • Releasing my old expectations and opening up to what is • by @njwilliams87

11 years ago today, I stepped off the plane to start my new chapter in the Cayman Islands! I was met by the legend and all round top bloke that is @arsbog who just happened to be on island at the time & I will always be so thankful he was! I love how Tao friends get everywhere!

Fast forward to this morning, 11 years later - I’m still here! Beach walking with the dog, still enjoying island life, still managing to get sand absolutely everywhere and now and utterly convinced flip-flops are formal wear🏝️

I think this was my first staycation on Grand Cayman, only taken 11 years… Fab long weekend celebrating Nali’s big birthday! Cheers to you Nali - and here’s to 40 🥂

1. Shameless balcony sunset
2. Impatiently waiting for the others to arrive
3. Rude to not take this photo (I’m basic and I know it!)
4. Only group photo taken this weekend and half are still missing!
5. Day 1 of 3: 100% probability I’m sweating champagne
6. 50 shades of bluuuuuuuuue
7. Have you even been to the beach if you don’t take a photo half behind a palm tree? Asking for a friend.
8. Robe life is the life for me.
9. Day 2 of 3: Squad grew by 1. Now sweating Champagne and Espresso Martinis - keeping it classy!

Roxy: 📣I’ve got an important update….. my human has redeemed herself and I will no longer be accepting applications for a new parent.
.
I have graciously forgiven her poor life choices and the downright humiliating decision to make me wear a Shakespearean ruffle collar for a whole week. It was touch and go and there were some serious contenders for my new Dad/ Mum, but she saved herself at the final hurdle and took me to Barkers!! She then proceeded to throw stones for 2 hours like any well behaved dog servant should.

She did insist I had a bath once we got home however other humans said I smelt lovely and was ‘oh so soft’. So again, I will be generous and let this misdemeanor slide. She really doesn’t know how lucky she has it!

4 days, 75km hiked and 2,500m of sweaty elevation glory! Somehow, we’re all still smiling - potentially because the views took our breath away!!

Trekking to the Lost City, Sierra Nevada, wasn’t just a hike, it was a heart-thumping, soul-refreshing adventure with the best group! Sweat was earned, laughs were loud, mosquitoes were plentiful and waterfalls have never felt so gooood! The jungle gave me mud, magic, and a much-needed reminder: I love this wild life!

Take home lesson - I NEED to get off the rock more regularly and do more of what makes my heart full!

To anyone wanting to get their steps in, be off grid, and be totally immersed in nature - I can’t recommend this trip enough! Get after it!

Happy 4th birthday to the fastest running, tennis ball obsessed, chicken catching extraordinaire dog I know! Roxy has more friends than most people, the stamina of an Olympian, swims like a fish, swerves strangers attention like a pro, is so loyal and enjoys nothing more than rolling face first in the sand before she has to get back in the car 🧡

To the person that dumped her as a puppy, thank you! My life is infinitely richer thanks to this four legged free loader 🧡
