“An Elegy for a landscape” 🌱🎶✨

“An Elegy” by composer and director Mees Vervuurt @meesvervuurt is a musical performance in and with the landscape. In a time when humans and nature seem further apart than ever, ten people attempt to merge with nature; voices drift along with the wind. A singer tries to catch the air with her breath. Percussive strikes resonate through the ground. Someone buries themselves and waits. A choir sings in seven different languages (native languages of the singers: Korean, Catalan, Occitan, French, Portuguese, Dutch, and Cypriot Greek), moving through the landscape like a group of migratory birds. This performance creates an invitation to listen more deeply. To the earth. To everything that lives. The landscape becomes a living co-performer that speaks and sings. Sand, breath, grass, movement, birds, a passing stranger, all contribute to bring this performance to life.

“An Elegy” is a production by Studio Vacuüm @studiovacuum & het Nederlands Kamerkoor @ned_kamerkoor .

Gràcies Isabel, Mariana, Lou-Ann, Mary, Mar, Femke and Youngin for your generosity, your trust and your savoir faire.

I came here looking for the joy in singing that had been quietly fading for some time.

And I found all of you.

You brought joy, inspiration, laughter and light, even through the hardest moments. You filled my soul with the artistic nourishment I had been longing for.

And thank you @hannevandevrie and @david_e_wolf for your presence, trust and guidance. by @nkknxt26
