Not one of my usual posts, but I thought it time for something along these lines. Over the last year and a half, a lot has happened in my life. The best way I can describe some of the feelings are being thrown upside down, in the dirt, on my back, and all I could think is to get up and keep going. I’ve said goodbye to my biggest supporter, packed up my childhood home, and jumped blind into new beginnings all in pursuit of what I love. There’s been moments where I’ve been confused, upset, tired, or angry all while trying my best to put one foot in front of the other. It may sound like it thus far, but this is far from a pity post. This is a post to all who helped me get back on my feet and helped teach me to run again. To friends, family, mentors, and peers. To the friends who would call me when I needed it most, or just to check in. To the people who moved mountains and filled valleys just to help me keep forward motion. Those who shared sunsets, coffees, dinners, or ice cream runs. Those who taught me to see and appreciate the little things, and to love with all you can while you still can. Those who sent love through a screen or through letters. And to those who were silent but instrumental. Alongside many many more. I thank you all, even though I could never thank you enough. I’m beginning to feel like myself again, and I could never repay what my community that I call my family has done for me by @nkn_jumps

This is probably one of the hardest things that I’ll ever have to post, and I honestly don’t know the best way to put this into words. We got the call early this morning from hospice that my mom, Leslie Pinkerton Nelson, had passed. They reported that she passed peacefully in her sleep, and was not in pain. After a year of fighting breast cancer, in 2022-2023, we had believed that she would be cancer free as of middle to late 2023. Until my mom had sever pain in her stomach area, in February this year (2024). She went in to get it checked out, and they told her that she now had a mass in her liver. Turns out the breast cancer had metastasized to her liver and had gone undetected, and was discovered at stage four. The cancer was very resilient to the chemotherapy, and it (the chemo) wasn’t doing much. The doctors were just trying to buy her time, to my mother’s request. She fought till the very end and is now in peace. I’m writing this to inform everybody, and not to ask for sympathy. I’m deeply grateful for everyone’s love and support, and to everyone that visited her, or even sent love in their thoughts and prayers. by @nkn_jumps

Super fun week in Temecula! “Bartholomaeus 2” Jumped extremely well yesterday, in the TVNHS $50k National Standard Grand Prix. We had just one rail (rider error), but so proud of him. Looking forward to the rest of the weeks with the rest of the horses 🙌 by @nkn_jumps

I had a great time at @seasideequestriantour this winter! The boys were great in last week’s “$100,000 Sky Partners Grand Prix” on Saturday, out of 60 entries. Only “Fuij” advanced to the Jump off along 14 other pairs, unfortunately we had a pair of rails to keep us out of the top. I’m so proud of the way they jumped, and I look forward to progressing with these two as a team! by @nkn_jumps
