I think one of the biggest worries around outsourcing is feeling like you’re handing over control of your business.

You’re not.

A good VA isn’t there to come in and start running your business their way.

We’re there to learn how YOU work, understand what you need and take responsibility for the things that don’t actually require you.

You still steer the ship.

You just don’t have to simultaneously steer it, answer 14 emails, update the spreadsheet and create next week’s Instagram posts. 😂

That’s the difference.

Can we just give a little credit to the parents running businesses for a second? 😂👏

Because the juggle is wild!

People sometimes assume that working for yourself means you barely work. I have genuinely never worked harder in my life!

Because when it’s your business, it’s different. My family’s future rests on what we’re building. This is our livelihood 💙

But that’s also exactly why I love it. I can build something I’m ridiculously proud of and be there for the school runs, assemblies, holidays and all those little moments with my kids that I’ll never get back.

Is it easy? Absolutely not 😂
Is the balance perfect? Definitely not.

But somehow, we always make it work.
And I genuinely think parents building businesses are a little bit superhuman 😂💙

If you’re doing the juggle too, give yourself some credit today. You’re doing more than you probably realise 🫶

The phrase “I’ll quickly do that” has stolen more hours from business owners than I would like to imagine 😂

Individually, some of these jobs might only take 10, 20 or 30 minutes. But when you’re doing ALL of them alongside the actual work that makes your business money, they don’t feel very quick anymore. They can become time consuming and monotonous.

That’s where outsourcing can be a cost effective option to calm the chaos and take care of the mundane everyday tasks that are necessary, but don’t actually grow your business necessarily.

Lots of little tasks that collectively take up your week and become overwhelming.

Well… this definitely wasn’t your average coffee stop! 😂☕️🏍️

We popped into the new @45fuel at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago and there is so much to look at!

Motorsport memorabilia, classic cars, a rather hard to miss bright green Lamborghini 😍💚 and then we headed upstairs with our coffees and realised we had a pretty incredible view of the track too!

We even managed to catch some weekend motorbike racing while we were there 🏍️💨

One of our favourite things about running NLB is getting out and about, discovering new local businesses and finding slightly more interesting places to stop for a coffee between everything else going on. Particularly to work from too! 💻 And I think this one is going to be hard to beat! 🙌

Such an amazing addition to Snetterton and definitely somewhere we’ll be visiting again soon 👏

A little behind the scenes of NLB and a recent client visit, because apparently our Instagram has spent a lot of time showing laptops and not enough time showing the people actually behind them 😂

Most weeks here are a complete mixture.

One minute I’m working on client admin, the next I’m creating content, jumping onto a meeting, working on recruitment or heading out networking.

And that’s actually one of my favourite things about what we do.

No two clients need exactly the same support and no two days look quite the same.

We’re not trying to build NLB into a faceless business support company.

We want our clients to know the people behind the work, trust us with their business and genuinely feel like we’re part of their team. 💙

Networking has been particularly valuable as NLB has grown because it helps us feel part of the wider local business community rather than operating in our own little bubble as well.

Here are some ways it can help you too 👇

Running a business can sometimes be quite isolating, so having a network of other business owners who understand the highs and lows is really valuable. And always great to share advice.

Having a trusted network of other businesses/people that I can recommend to our own clients when they need something outside our remit.

Some conversations might lead to work immediately, others might lead somewhere months later and some might simply become great business relationships. They’re all valuable.

Learning from other people in different industries, experiences and perspectives is valuable.

Your business Instagram SHOULD help you sell.

That’s ultimately why most of us are here.

But if every post is “buy this”, “book now”, “spaces available”, “here’s our service”…

why would someone who isn’t ready to buy yet follow you?

Your content has a job to do before someone becomes a client.

Build familiarity.

Show your expertise.

Help them.

Make them laugh.

Show them you understand the problem they’re dealing with.

Then, when they ARE ready for what you sell, you’re already the business they know.

That’s the bit businesses sometimes miss.

I see this all the time.

Business owners wait until they’re completely overwhelmed before they think they’re “busy enough” to outsource.

The inbox is overflowing, admin has piled up, evenings are becoming work time and there’s a list of things they’ve been meaning to do for approximately six months.

You don’t have to get to that point.

Support isn’t just there to rescue a business that’s drowning.

Sometimes it’s what stops you getting there in the first place.

If you’re starting to feel stretched, that might actually be the perfect time to look at what doesn’t need to stay on your plate. 💙

It’s rarely the actual 20 minutes that’s the problem.

It’s the amount of brain space that one annoying job takes up while you repeatedly remember it, avoid it and move it onto tomorrow’s list.

Then tomorrow becomes next week.

And somehow that tiny admin job has been living rent free in your head for a month.

THIS is exactly the kind of thing you can hand over.

Not because you aren’t capable of doing it.

Because you’ve got better things to spend your time and brainpower on.
