The Center for Photographic Art's annual 8x10 fundraising auction and exhibition goes live for bidding this Thursday (9/17). The opening reception in Carmel is Friday September 18, 4-6 PM. Online bidding is open from 9/17-10/08.

The 5th book, UNSTAGED Anthology: Essence Vol. 2, is officially out and available now (link in bio).

A special thank you to guest curator Susann Carmen Jagodzińska for bringing her perspective to this second volume.

With this release, the Essence duology is now complete.

Thank you to all the artists whose personal perspectives became part of these two volumes. It's been a privilege to bring together different voices and give them a place in the UNSTAGED anthology.

Pleasantly surprised to be included among the artists selected for Photolucida’s Critical Mass 2026. My submission was 10 images from my series “Between Two Selves.” We move to the next round where 50 will be selected by a group of esteemed curators, gallerists snd educators. I appreciate the hard work of the pre-screening panel to arrive at the 200 finalists.

My image titled Resonance in Silver has been selected for the Art Bias' Snapped Exhibition. The show runs from August 3-27 in Studio 114 Gallery located at 1700 Industrial Road, San Carlos and online at https://ARTBIAS.ORG.
This image was made with my Diana F film camera.

Tomorrow we will be celebrating Mother’s Day, for some it’s a day of celebrating the significant female figure in our lives, but for others it is a day charged with difficult memories.

Photographer Nadine Levin (@nlevin68) has created a deeply personal project about her complex relationship with her mother. Rather than grief, her mother’s death at 103 provoked a disquieting absence of feeling, an emotional void that made her want to explore their complex dynamics.

Raised under the pressure of her mother’s exacting ideals, ideals of beauty, visibility, and desirability, the artist forged her own sense of agency in opposition to a prescribed identity. In the aftermath of her mother’s passing, an inheritance of heirlooms and photographs spanning more than a century becomes both catalyst and conduit.

Through the act of photographing these objects, and eventually herself, the artist constructs a layered visual dialogue that probes memory, inheritance, and the unresolved tensions between intimacy and estrangement.

The Magic of Light brings together a dynamic group of local and international photographers in a juried exhibition that explores the transformative role of light in contemporary image-making. Through a wide range of practices and perspectives, the exhibition considers how illumination shapes not only what we see, but how we perceive and interpret visual narratives.

Pleased to have been juried into the Magic of Lite.exhibit at the Art Space 114 in Los Angeles. This image is titled "Where the Light Holds." I made the image in our hotel room at Citizen M in London. The exhibit opens on May 7 and runs through June 20. Appreciate juror Ann Jastrab selecting the image and the encouragement of Georgina Reskala to enter.
