Diverse Dimensions: A Plurality of Perspectives curated by @andi_campognone at @collegeofthedesert will open October 27 through November 25, 2026 with a reception to be held November 18, 4-7pm.

In the contemporary art landscape, the cross-pollination between 2D and 3D works captivates and challenges both artists and viewers, creating a rich dialogue that transcends traditional boundaries of visual language. This exhibition highlights artists who deftly navigate the interplay between these two dimensions, crafting a cohesive narrative that resonates on multiple sensory levels.

I will be showing my sculpture “Veiled” 24 x 24 x 24 inches, acrylic paint, metal screen, unraveled metal screen filaments, thread and my drawing “Shadow Dance” 44 x 48 inches, graphite, rice paper, drawing paper.

Still thinking about how good it felt to open the studio doors for @texture_la 💛

Over the weekend, the Corrie in Color studio filled up with amazing art and so much color and texture to explore.

It was so special to have friends, family, and new faces come through - to share the studio and give everyone a closer look at all the work we get to do.

A huge thank you to the artists + designers who shared their work, to everyone who stopped by, and to @ladesignweekend for giving us the perfect reason to turn the studio into a full-on texture playground.

Feeling very grateful for this creative community around me - and already dreaming about what we can do next. ✨

Nancy Ivanhoe uses potentially harsh metal screening to create her elegant work. In her words:

“I use the screen as both a transparent boundary and a portal – each layer a participant in a dynamic exchange of color and light. As the viewer moves, colors blend, moirés activate and hidden passageways reveal inner forms. The viewer’s position becomes part of the work. Like a dance, these sculptures are not fixed objects to be read, but diaphanous forms – to be approached, looked within, and discovered.

Underlying my work is a deeper conviction: that true understanding is never immediate. The layered transparency of the screen reveals meaning gradually…”

If you have ever touched or dealt with metal screening, you will understand the skill, patience and nuance that Nancy possesses to create such layered and evocative work. To my mind, she magically sculpts in the air, coaxing fluidity out of a highly unyielding and unwieldy material. Her deftly gestural forms belie the determined rigor and discernment needed to bring them into being.

“Presence, Absence and Loose Connections,” curated by yours truly, is on view at 515 Bendix through September 12, when there will also be a closing reception 7:00-9:00pm.

🪐 What if the universe begins as vibration? 🧬

On Tuesday evening, we gathered for Breath-String, an intimate concert of violin and guitar with Taro Wayama and David Lee Ruest, held within Breath-line with works by Nancy Ivanhoe and Tia Xia.

String theory imagines the smallest foundations of the universe as vibrating strings: different frequencies becoming different forms of matter. That evening, the idea became physical. Strings vibrated. Air moved. Bodies listened and breathed.

And everyone who entered the space became another node along the string, a constellation of artists, musicians, friends, and strangers connected, however briefly, through the same vibration.

Perhaps this is what gathering around art can do: create invisible strings between bodies, objects, memories, and sound.

Thank you to Taro and David for filling the space with music; to Nancy Ivanhoe and Tia Xia, whose works gave the evening its body and landscape; and to everyone who came and became part of the string.

For one evening, we breathed together.
