Three hundred sixty five.

Some spent in oblivion,
Most spent learning
how to live with the absence.

It’s false and inhospitable without my patriarch.
inequitable.
Life keeps moving while the ones we love, fade before us.

The physical form was never so different
from the spiritual.

What need has something
to be real in matter
to be real at all?

The body is only a vessel,
a mirage of permanence.
What remains
is what was never made of either.

The spiritual is what makes us true.

The mirage disappears when you reach for it, but that doesn’t mean you never saw it.

You can only understand brightness
if you know what darkness is.

And I have known darkness.

A man is measured
by how he carries responsibility,
by how he treats others
even when he doesn’t know
how to treat himself.

Three hundred sixty five and I am still learning
What you left behind.

Not your physical.
Not your voice.
Not the things I can’t.

Touch.

But the man you taught me to become.

You taught me how to be a man. by @nlybmaxedout
