This is Hassan Kangiwa, a poet, playwright, and the current Auditor of ANA Niger. He explains how to use the goat weed (☘️) to cure ulcer. I asked his permission to post this for those that may need it. May Allah bless him and may we find it beneficial. For the non-Hausa speakers, they’ll need a translator. by @nmahassanm

The 7th day fida'u prayer for my brother-in-law, the late Alhaji Adamu Abati, was held today. May Allah accept all the duas offered and grant mercy upon his soul. May Allah also reward our family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their support. Please say a prayer for him as well. Thank you. by @nmahassanm

STILL, IT WAS A GOOD YEAR

I’ve recorded losses here and there this year. Losing my phone to keke thieves nearly broke my writing spirit. Over 50 finished stories. Prose & poetry collections. Hamood’s pictures I can no longer find. Videos and photographs from home and abroad I never backed up—for one or two reasons, chief among them my own laziness.
But then I remember this: whatever we hold, we lose, except our good deeds. When I remember that, my heart makes room for peace.
Alhamdulillah.
Despite everything, 2025 has been a good year—as far as my goals are concerned. Two upcoming publications. A photo exhibition in January 2026. And, most importantly, a reader role with Sundress Publications’ Best of the Net Anthology. I sometimes wonder if any of this would have been possible without grief pushing me beyond my limits.
May next year be great, too.
May we not be broken.
May we grow from strength to success.
Masha’Allah. by @nmahassanm

Returning to a first love after decades. My fingers didn't feel like they’d been away that long. Came home with sore toes, but belly-flat glad.🤾🏾⛹🏾 by @nmahassanm
