The Undercover 85 Denim was introduced in Jun Takahashi’s Autumn/Winter 2005 “Arts & Crafts” collection. The design focuses on reconstruction, using distressed denim, visible patches, uneven seams, and heavy stitching to create a worn and handmade appearance. Instead of covering up imperfections, Takahashi made them an important part of the jeans’ overall aesthetic.

The “85” name is often associated with the original ¥85,000 retail price. Over time, the jeans have become an important piece of Undercover’s archive, recognized for turning signs of damage, repair, and aging into intentional design elements. Has been worn by so many influential rappers of our day and age, such as Weiland, Chief Keef, Pierre Bourne, Juice Wrld for an example. The light needs a portable battery to power on, and a small area of scuff.
