I'm pleased to announce that I am returning to Northfield Mount Hermon School this fall to teach, design and build costumes for the theater and dance programs. Our first play is the infamous Scottish Tragedy, to be performed on Halloween weekend. This is my second time designing this show. It's a challenging piece, but so much fun to play with the supernatural elements as well as the historical. More to follow! by @nmh_performing_arts

🎓 This spring, two members of the Class of 2026 drew on their passion for the performing arts to create their senior capstone projects.

🎭 Zoe utilized her experiences in NMH theater ( @nmh_performing_arts )and as a coxswain and captain of the girls’ rowing team ( @nmhrowing ) to direct a full-length stage production of “Red,” by playwright John Logan.

📹 Meanwhile, Niayla created a short documentary on the impact that her time in the NMH Dance Company ( @nmh_dance_program ) had on her personal growth, confidence, and relationship with her Native heritage.

👉 “The capstone program gives students a chance to dig deeper into their interests, learn valuable skills, and direct their own learning experience”, Zoe said. "I think the independence and proactivity that capstones require are very valuable skills for seniors to learn and get thrown into."

🎭 In NMH’s theater program, Amelia ’27 has learned about persistence, collaboration — and the special magic of playing middle-aged characters.

💭 “NMH has given me a place to do what I love, to take risks, and to grow. Most of all, it has given me my place on stage,” Amelia writes, in the NMH Magazine.
