For ten years, the idea of becoming a yoga teacher quietly lived in the background of my life. I had attempted it twice to be honest.

It began as a whisper in savasana — a feeling that I wanted to go deeper. I would leave class inspired, imagining myself guiding others. I tried twice but each time life stepped in. There were seasons of building a career, caring for family, and putting responsibilities ahead of myself. I told myself, maybe next year.

But yoga never left me. It met me in every season — steadying me when I felt overwhelmed, softening me when I felt hardened, reminding me to breathe when everything felt tight. Over time, the desire to teach matured. It became less about leading a class and more about living the practice fully.

I sometimes wondered if too much time had passed, if I had missed my chance. But yoga had already taught me patience. Growth doesn’t rush.

Eventually, I realized there would never be a “perfect” time. So I chose myself. Not because life slowed down, but because I stopped waiting. After a decade of showing up for everyone else, I was ready to show up fully for me.

Teacher training stretched me in every way. It asked me to find my voice, to trust myself, to move through doubt. But I realized I wasn’t becoming someone new — I was stepping into something that had been forming for ten years.

The delays weren’t failures. They were preparation.

Becoming a yoga teacher wasn’t just about completing training. It was about honoring a promise I made to myself long ago — and finally having the courage to keep by @nmhanify
