Yesterday, this group of student athletes made history.
Our very own NMHU athletes, Akira Martinez- Crook, Alesa Darley, Cameron Browning, Isaac Garcia, Jordan Kroeter, and Julius McDade made a trip down to City Hall where Mayor Louie Trujillo, accompanied by Chief of the Las Vegas Police Department Adrian Crespin, then declared that as of yesterday, August 31, 2020, is officially Black Lives Matter Day in Las Vegas, NM. Congrats on all your hard work and dedication! 🖤💜 #weridetogether by @nmhu__saac

• The march, led by student-athletes, was a HUGE success!

in case you needed some shirt ideas for this evenings BLM silent march!
We will begin gathering in front of STU Clark at 5:30 pm, and begin walking at 6:00 pm. 💜✊🏾🖤 #weridetogether #nmhu #blm #blacklivesmatter #gocowboys by @nmhu__saac

Tomorrow evening, August 31st 2020, NMHU will be hosting a SILENT, PEACEFUL Black Lives Matter Protest at 6:00 pm.
We will begin gathering in the football stadium at 5:30 pm, then proceed to walk down to the plaza where several voices will be heard in regards to the current racial inequality in our nation. We will then return back to the football stadium.
We ask that everyone WEARS A MASK and practices SOCIAL DISTANCING throughout the duration of this event.
Please bring posters, BLM attire, and prepare to make an impact on our community through using our actions rather than words as we stand together.
If you have any questions please contact Cameron Browning, Julius McDade, Alesa Darley, Akira Martinez-Crook, or Isaac Garcia.
