ما الذي تخبرنا به خزفيات صينية غرقت قرب سواحل جاوة عن ارتباط قطر بالعالم قبل أكثر من ألف عام؟ 👀

في عام 970م، غرقت سفينة في بحر جافا، حاملة معها مقتنيات تكشف جانبًا من شبكة تجارية واسعة امتدت بين الصين وجنوب شرق آسيا والهند والشرق الأوسط.

من مقتنيات حطام سفينة سيريبون إلى القطع الأثرية المكتشفة في مروب، تكشف القاعة عن الطرق التي عبرت من خلالها السلع والمواد والأفكار بين مجتمعات متباعدة، وعن المكان الذي شغلته قطر ضمن هذه الشبكات القديمة.

How did Chinese ceramic end up in Qatar over 1,000 years ago? 👀

In 970 CE, a ship sank off the coast of Java. What it left behind tells a story that reaches all the way to Qatar. Step into Gallery 4 at the National Museum of Qatar and discover how trade and navigation connected Qatar to the wider world. From Chinese ceramics and African crystal beads recovered from the Cirebon shipwreck to artefacts uncovered at Murwab, the gallery reveals the extensive trade networks that linked communities across land and sea more than a thousand years ago.
