Body dysmorphia is is something that is not often talked about, but it is real and many people deal with it, especially adolescents as social media continues to rise.

I know that I am a person who is just generally very hard on myself and so sometimes if I’m not seeing the results that I thought I would be seeing, I get frustrated and start attacking what I look like. It’s definitely not OK. I am just grateful to God for the individuals (Ernest, Clement, Shanelle, Naana, Belinda, Danielle, Chelly) on Monday and Tuesday of this week that reminded me of the beauty they see in me and allowed me to vent and let all of those harsh feelings out because then it gave away for the feelings of love and encouragement to go back into my body.

Also if you are somebody who struggles with this very often, please make sure to speak to someone about this. You only get one body (for the most part) and it’s so important to treat it with kindness.

And just know, all of your comments of love and support never ever go unnoticed and it’s what has kept me pushing and going whenever it gets tough so thank y’all 🤍

Psalm 126:5 - “Those who sow songs of sorrow will reap songs of joy.”

This verse is definitely my testimony for this past year. God has been so good and looking back on it, He never left my side once. In the quiet moments, the frustrating moments, the confused moments, the painful moments, the happy moments, the silly moments-He was there through and through. Even when I didn’t want to talk (and if you know me, you know I love to talk), He was still listening and strengthening me. Whew, what a God.

I was telling my family that even if I did absolutely nothing this year, it would still be one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had. The joy that has come from being gracefully broken cannot be compared. I remember a friend told me that 28 was a great year for her and she prayed that it would be one for me and it truly was.

God truly answers prayers and He will meet you in your broken and scared place and lift you up. I learned so much about myself and grew in ways that I never would have imagined. I got my spark back🥹 and I’m just ready to light this world up (pls this is a good thing😭). What the enemy meant for evil and destruction, God turned it around for good! In the words of my absolute favorite Bible verse “Therefore I consider these present sufferings are not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in you.”

Wedding season 2025 has truly been such a blessing and a beautiful witness of God’s faithfulness. It has been the pleasure of my life serving as a bridesmaid this year for three of my beautiful sisters. I’m beyond elated that God has blessed them with the loves of their lives because they are absolutely deserving of it and more. Although the wedding class of 2025 has tensioned us saaa, it has been a reminder that God does make everything beautiful in its time.
