in March of 2023 I got to visit the fatherland for the first time with my Abuela, cousins and dad (who just got his Salvadoran citizenship). I got to meet family I had never met in person before. I got to see the church my Abuela grew up going to. I got to see old family homes and neighborhoods and pictures. At the time I was naive to what a privilege this was. To have an intact patria to return to. To know my family and family history is safe. Entering 2024 reflecting deeply on this and hope you do too taken in El Salvador by @nnnnicte
