A few surf 🏄‍♂️ photos from a memorable day in Fiji 🇫🇯

I had the opportunity to surf guide last week at @namotuisland

Namotu 🏝️ is a waterman’s paradise, vinaka 🙏 for having me along. The waves are top notch, but the meals 😋 and incredible Fijian people and their welcoming culture are also incredible 🙌

On Thursday, we scored a solid off season swell with light winds. It was a magic day and all the breaks were pumping and fairly uncrowded leading to good waves for everyone. My crew surfed Cloudbreak all morning , Namotu Lefts, and then Restaurants until dark 😅 .

While the best barrels will remain only in my memory, grateful for these captures 📸 from an amazing day.

I rode my trusty 6’1 @ajwsurfboards OG Potato Launcher from @realwatersports which worked incredible for flying through barrel sections all day 🤘

2026 Molokai to Oahu Crossing in the Books 😅

Many thanks to @realwatersports and @armstrongfoils for supporting me on the journey.

Challenging conditions would be an understatement for this years Kaiwi Channel Crossing ☠️

Lighter and more northerly wind than forecasted made for a serious grind on this year’s M2O.

The start had minimal energy and like many athletes I chose a smaller foil than I would have liked, so within the first few miles I had to come down twice to recover my energy.

After I was able to get going a third time the conditions picked up marginally and I put my head down and was able to grind it out for the next 45 minutes until the bumps improved some.

I pushed my way across the channel and was happy with my pace until I saw Armie flying next to of me (far outside of Alan Davis). Instantly I found another level of motivation and chased after the legend.

Unfortunately a couple miles later my back leg started to cramp badly. Luckily I had planned for this possibility by bringing some pickle juice and it saved the day!

While my legs were still cooked and I was operating at a very high heart rate (avg for race was 166 ), I had some relief and it felt good to ride across the familiar Hawaii Kai zone and approach Diamond Head.

Because of the northerly (more offshore) wind, quartering the last couple miles took the last of my energy and I wasn’t able to flat water it across the finish.

So my brief moment of TV time was scratching to the finish on my belly 😂, but I did manage to sneak just past Armie at the end and overall happy to make it across the finish line 🏁 in one piece. My final time was 3 hrs 7 mins 58 seconds and 41st overall.

@armstrongfoils Mid Length Magic 🪄

So impressed with the @armstrongfoils mid length MK II board 🔥.

I had the opportunity to test out a 55L board in Chicama this March and was blown away by its performance in waves with the Parawing and wing.

A notable change is the boards improved ability to get on foil in lighter and gusty conditions. It’s far more stable than its predecessor and you certainly could ride one size down.

The new x foam also feels pretty indestructible and handled some abuse without leaving a mark.

I’ve taken a 55L board to Hood River and been having a blast riding it on the river as well.

I love this board option because it’s an awesome one board quiver for prone foiling, winging, and para winging, and foil drive.

Blessed to score a great run of strong winds 🌬️this Febuary in Hawaii

Even though I’ve been teaching Watersports for over 15 years I’ve never lost my passion for playing in the ocean because there is always something new to learn.

I took advantage of fun backyard conditions to finally learn how to Parawing in place in order to ride waves.

Learning how to redeploy the wing was a fun skill challenge that I’m stoked to unlock as it will open up even more foil sessions.
