Every skin tone is a masterpiece. 💛
Dark. Brown. Caramel. Beige. Ivory. And skin with no melanin at all.
Every shade was designed. Every shade belongs. Every shade deserves to be celebrated — not just tolerated.
This is what “Proudly In My Skin” means.
Not sympathy. A full, loud, unapologetic celebration of every skin tone God made.
Swipe through. Share this. Tag someone who needs to hear it today. 💛
Because beauty has no skin tone.

I was born into a world that saw me before it knew me.
My skin was pale, my hair golden-white, and my eyes carried a dance of light.
But from the very beginning, they whispered… stared… questioned.
I was different—and the world made sure I knew.

In school, I was bright. But not everyone saw that.
Some couldn’t see past my appearance. Others thought I couldn’t see at all.
They didn’t understand that albinism affects vision, not intelligence. That sunlight hurts my skin, not my spirit.

I squinted to read the chalkboards. I avoided harsh sunlight. I faced mocking laughter.
But I kept going.
Because even as a child, I knew this:
My difference didn’t make me less—it made me rare.

Over the years, I began to unlearn shame.
To replace fear with boldness. To find my voice.
And when I found it, I used it—to educate, to encourage, to empower.

Today, I am many things: a learner, a leader, a light.
I advocate not just for myself, but for every child who has ever felt unseen because of their skin, their sight, or their story.

Albinism didn’t steal my future—it shaped it.
It gave me a reason to speak. A reason to stand. A reason to shine.

This June 13, on International Albinism Awareness Day, my story is a reminder:
Differences are not flaws. They are features of humanity.
I’m not seeking pity. I’m inviting understanding.
I don’t want to be stared at. I want to be seen.
Seen for my strength. For my dreams. For my truth.

Because in every child born with albinism, there is a light waiting to be understood… not dimmed.
My name is Happiness Eghonghon Okosun and I'm a person with albinism.❤️✨
