Sharing a labor of love I’m so excited to see in the world! My newest picture book “Maya Angelou Finds her Voice” comes out January 7, 2025. Written by Connie and Peter Roop!

This book is inspired by the true story of Maya Angelou’s childhood and introduction to reading! Had such a fun time doing a lot of hand drawn type for these spreads with fun words and phrases like “caterpillar green”. Endless thanks to @simonkids and @ssedlib for bringing me on to this lovely project! So excited to share more!! ❤️❤️ preorder at the link in my bio! by @noadenmon

We are getting closer and closer to the release of the latest collaboration between myself and poet Zetta Elliott - “A Song for Juneteenth!”

When I I took on this project I knew I wanted to experiment, since the language was so vast, emotional and ultimately quite timeless. Looking back with clearer eyes I am so grateful to have been able to use my creative imagination for a project that will hopefully empower children for years and years to come! Huge thanks to Little Brown and particularly Alvina Ling for the support and encouragement in the process of bringing this book to life!

Pre-order this lovely collaboration between Zetta l and celebrate with your own copy this year on May 19th, just a month before Juneteenth! Link to order in my bio! by @noadenmon

Fun new piece I made for the literary website Narratively! New for me in subject matter and medium! This peice is titled “Why was I in Such a Rush to Have Sex for the First Time?” Been using pencils a lot more recently and wanted to try a comic style with this one. Love the result! Thanks once again so much for the trust Jesse Sposato! ❤️❤️ @narratively by @noadenmon

Whoops let’s try this again with a better image! (Forgive me I haven’t posted in a while!) Sharing a bit of work made a few months ago for the phenomenal podcast Teaching Hard History! I actually had this on repeat while I was studying to be a K-12 art teacher back in the day! Such a full circle moment seeing my artwork on my podcast app. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ by @noadenmon
