What a 2 years it’s been.

An incredible opportunity was given to me to play basketball in Germany at 15 years old. It was a new culture, a new language, and new way of living. Not just for me, but for my family who also moved with me.

This second year living alone has been hard, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. The friendships, the coaching, the countless practices, the early mornings, the long bus rides, biking from late night practice in the rain, the injury’s, the ups and the downs and everything in between. They’ve all added up to the experience that I will remember with my time here in Wurzburg.

I’ve learned so much in these two years. About basketball and myself. I learned what it’s like playing European style ball, how to train like a pro, how to live on my own, playing people years older than me, the motions of a long season, how to deal with injury, how to stay disciplined, how to stay consistent, and what sacrifice really means for me.

I am grateful for the people I’ve met and the friendships that have come from this experience. Not many people have this opportunity to play overseas, let alone in their teens and I have not taken it for granted. If you would’ve told me at 8 years old when I first started playing basketball, that I would travel across the world for this game, I wouldn’t have even imagined it. Wurzburg will always feel a little bit like home for me, and I will have a special connection to it. This was truly a blessing and a dream of mine.

However my basketball journey is far from over. I’ve seen that basketball can take you around the world, and I trust that God has the right plan for me. When doors close, new ones open and all I can do is leave it up to God. I am grateful for my time in Würzburg and I will miss all of it. I’m excited for what’s next, and ready to keep chasing my dreams.
