Hey bb I just dropped a new song today. It took a couple years for me to finish this one.

I started writing it at the beginning of my “therapy journey” when I was first really learning about the idea of “self love”. I obviously heard of that term before but I had no idea how much I wasn’t actually loving myself and how negative and verbally abusive I constantly was to myself (I thought the only way to improve was to beat myself up and put myself down). I learned that talking down to myself only causes damage and self love is crucial if I wanted to accomplish my dreams. I started to changed the way I talked to myself but it takes a while to undo the harsh words my inner bully said to me for years. That’s where this song comes in.

At first glance, this song may seem cocky, but when I wrote these words, I did not believe them about myself. At all. And that’s why I think they’re so important. The corny phrase “fake it till you make it” comes to mind. I’m the biggest cheerleader for my friends, family and for everyone around me and I’m so passionate about building people up and making them know their value and how special they are. So this song is my first attempt in directing that love to myself. It was my first attempt in building myself up and making myself know my own worth and value. I didn’t believe the words, but I was going to sing them anyway until I did.

If you read all of this, thank you and if you listen to this song, thank you so much. I’ve been through a lot the past couple years and I’m sorry I’ve been so absent. I didn’t want to be, but I have so much to share with you guys and I’ve worked so hard to be at a place where I’m ready to do that so if you’re still here with me, I can’t thank you enough.
