A trip to the south western tip of Africa today, the Cape of Good Hope. We stopped by the penguin colony on the way back to Cape Town. Sad that this was our last full day of vacation as we fly back Saturday night/Sunday morning. taken in Cape of Good Hope by @noahblask

We have moved on from Botswana to Cape Town in South Africa and we took it easy today after two days of early morning game drives. Just a historical walking tour in Cape town today and some shopping and cards along the water front. Here a few Table Mountain pics from Cape Town and some from our resort in Kasane, Botswana.

Cold but beautiful morning in Chobe. Less animals but more cats today (and more of a hunt). Wonderful elephants up close as we entered the park. Then we saw a leopard (super rare) sleeping in a bush after we caught glimpses of him walking. Then we saw a three lionesses. One sleeping in the bush and two finishing a rest on the flood plain before disappearing into the grasses. Plenty of giraffes, elephants, kudu, impalas and various birds as we left the park.

Note on the cold- 49 degrees this morning riding in an open air Land Cruiser. Olivia had on 5 layers and 3 heavy blankets on the way into the park. As I write this it’s 77 and I’m roasting in the sun in shorts and a t-shirt as I enjoy a drink over looking the river. taken in Chobe National Park, Botswana by @noahblask

A day of learning in Joburg today…Aprtheid Museum followed by a tour of Soweto, with a stop at Mandela’s house. It was a heavy couple of hours, so to liven things up we ended with some bowling and beer.

Don’t worry if you think you missed a day, so did we. We literally flew through Wednesday, boarding in NYC around 9:30pm Tuesday and getting to our hotel at 8:30pm Wednesday. taken in Apartheid Museum by @noahblask
