It’s been a year since I arrived in Canada.
That sounds like a fact, but what it really means is: I’ve been walking with myself.
Learning how to stay. How to soften.
How to listen.

The truth is, I didn’t just come here from one place. I arrived carrying pieces of everywhere I’ve been - the quiet of Vienna, the intensity of Israel, the sacredness of India, and everything that cracked open in between.

There have been moments of deep clarity. And moments where I couldn’t recognize myself at all.
I’ve danced, prayed, sat in silence, spiraled in doubt, laughed so hard I cried, and cried so hard I laughed.

Some days I’ve felt deeply connected.
Other days, I just showed up the best I could.
But somehow, underneath it all, something keeps rooting. Something quiet. Something real.

There’s a line by Abhinavagupta I hold close -
“Liberation is tasting the essence of the Self in all things.”
To me, that means I don’t need to escape life to find peace.
I just need to meet it fully. As it is. As I am.

One year ago I arrived in Vancouver - a new land, with an open heart, carrying the heaviness of grief after losing our dog just weeks later.
As an immigrant, every step felt uncertain, unfamiliar. There were deep emotions inside me, craving movement, needing a place to land.

Then I found Dance Divine — and it slowly became that place.
A space where I could remember.
A space where I could move through it all.
A space where I could finally… just be.

As a child, I used to dance. I remember the sensation of release, of joy, of freedom.
But life happened, time passed, and dance slipped away. For years, the only movement I knew was at outdoor raves — wild and raw, but still missing something.
Until one of my journeys to India, in magical Auroville, introduced me to ecstatic dance.
Later I tasted it again in Vienna…
But only when I came to Vancouver did I truly dive in.

At first, I judged myself. Stayed in my head.
But week by week, I learned to soften.
To surrender.
To trust the breath, the body, the beat.
Eyes closed, heart open — I danced my way back to me.

And recently, another vision started to stir within me:
What if I was on the other side of the dance?
What if I became the one behind the decks — holding the space for others to journey?

Last Sunday, that vision came to life.
I played my first ever set at Dance Divine.
And I danced with them. And for them. And for those who are not with us anymore.
And with every beat, I felt like I was exactly where I needed to be.
In service. In presence. In pure joy.

This moment meant the world to me.
To express, to release, to transform.
To turn pain into movement. Grief into rhythm.
And to remember: music is medicine, and movement is my home.

Last October, I flew back to Israel from Vienna, where I'd been staying for a few months. I wanted more time with you because we all knew you weren’t well. But we kept hoping, wishing that maybe things would turn around for the better.
We just wanted you to stay with us for more.

I decided to take you to the beach one last time, to savor those moments with you. It was just a few days before the world changed, before the war began.
None of us knew what was coming.

Oh, how you loved it. Seeing you so full of life, jumping around on the sand, eager to play and run – you were like a puppy again. Not a 10-and-a-half-year-old warrior who’d been through so much with surgeries, tumors, and health challenges. You didn’t let any of it dim your spirit that day.

I’d give anything for more time with you, my sweet love.
I still think about you every day, still grieving and crying over you. I can still feel you, see you, and even smell you. How deeply I wish you were here.

✨ Almost three years ago, I stepped onto the Ecstatic Dance floor in Auroville, India—a place where I discovered the magic of ecstatic dance. Since then, I’ve danced my way through beautiful Vienna and now find myself moving freely here in Vancouver, Canada.

This journey has been about more than movement; it's been a spiritual path to a deeper connection with my body, mind, and soul. In each session, the rhythms of the music blend with our inner energy and the acceptance of ourselves. Together, they dissolve any lingering self-judgment, allowing pure freedom and joy to flow through each movement.

There’s something so powerful about letting go and simply *being*—no expectations, just presence. Every dance, every beat, has brought healing, grounding, and an incredible sense of liberation. Here’s to embracing every step and sway along the way. ✨

על הכמיהה להתאחד שוב עם מקום שבכל פעם שאתה שומע את השם שלו אתה חש כיווץ בחזה ספק-עצוב ספק-שמח, כזה שמרגיש כמו געגוע לאהוב רחוק.
לך תסביר להם על הקסם הזה באוויר. גם במקומות הכי לא סימפטיים וקשוחים לעיכול.

תסביר להם ששם האינטואיציה שלך מתחדדת פי מאה והקיבה שלך לומדת להתמודד עם חריף של הישמורות. ששם כל יום הוא רצף של סיטואציות לא צפויות בעליל, וזה חלק מהיופי.
כמה עושר. באוכל, בתרבות, בהיסטוריה, בהכנסת האורחים, בחום, באהבה.
שיש בה הכל מהכל, לכולם. לא משנה מי אתה, מה אתה ומהיכן הגעת.
שהכרת מקומיים שהם משפחה ויעזרו לך בכל.
איך הם משתגעים מהתלהבות כשהם שומעים אותך מדבר בהינדי. ועוד ג'ינג'ית מטורללת, גם כן.
