Happy first birthday to our Mr. Moo, the second cat we swore we’d never bring home 🐮🖤 Moo has never met a stranger and keeps us laughing (and occasionally tearing our hair out) every day. So endlessly grateful to our family, friends, and neighbors who cuddle him and Roxy while we’re off making music all the time: this day is bittersweet with us both on the road, but your whole family loves you Mistor (yes, even sister Roxy) and we love how much you love everyone you lay eyes on! See you home later tonight with a big bday treat 😍🐟🎂 by @noahkay9

We could not be more proud and excited to announce the 2026-2027 TENTH ANNIVERSARY SEASON of Pegasus: The Orchestra, led by founder, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Karén Hakobyan, and featuring five major orchestra programs with an extraordinary roster of featured artists and soloists!

We open September 26 at Cary Hall at the DiMenna Center in NYC, followed by a second performance September 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Stamford,NY with FROM WITHIN: STRINGS & VOICES. Concertmaster Ruggero Allifranchini, Principal Oboist Noah Kay, and Principal Cellist Ari Evan step forward as soloists, with Karén Hakobyan conducting and leading from the harpsichord.

On October 24, the full Pegasus orchestra returns to Merkin Hall with BRILLIANCE IN MOTION, featuring Reed Tetzloff in Prokofiev’s electrifying Piano Concerto No. 3, alongside Glinka and Nielsen’s Symphony No. 1.

On March 12, Vyacheslav “Slava” Gryaznov joins Pegasus at Merkin Hall for Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1, with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9, Kodaly’s Dances of Galanta, and the winning composition from our SECOND INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR WORKS.

On April 15, Pegasus and DOROT celebrate two milestones: Pegasus at 10 and DOROT at 50. Grammy-nominated cellist Sergey Antonov performs Saint-Saens’s Cello Concerto No. 1, and Karén Hakobyan appears as pianist in Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue while also conducting.

For our TENTH ANNIVERSARY SEASON FINALE on May 7, Pegasus returns to Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center for FROM PARIS TO CAIRO: SAINT-SAENS - 5 CONCERTI, 5 STARS.

Five years after our Lincoln Center debut with all five Rachmaninoff concertos, we return for another monumental undertaking: ALL FIVE Saint-Saens piano concertos in ONE NIGHT, featuring Asiya Korepanova, Albert Cano Smit, Nicolas Namoradze, Reed Tetzloff, and Vyacheslav “Slava” Gryaznov.

The project will continue with recording sessions for Pegasus’s FIRST COMMERCIAL RELEASE on the Aparte label.

Many chamber music concerts and additional anniversary events will also be announced.

We CANNOT WAIT to share this milestone year with you!

Roll credits on the 2025-2026 season 🎬

It wouldn’t have been possible without our teammates: Managing Director @chenyvonney, our Board of Directors, our Circle of Support, presenting partners (including hometown heroes @musiqahouston and @codamusicprogram), chamber music series across North America who entrusted your audiences with us, and speaking of…all you listeners who really brought it this season! Thank you ❤️

We also want to give a shoutout to the WindSync partners, families, and pets, who are constants through the highs and lows and give us a reason to dream big. Love how we have grown—seventeen years down ✅ by @noahkay9

Music video for Philip Glass: Etude No. 17 is now live! Link to the full performance is in my bio.

As with all Glass, the repetitive structures are immediately grasped, but years of work could go into making the machine breathe. Transcribing the piece from piano to winds does force the issue a bit, of course. In arranging, I did my best to imagine the length of a phrase versus what our bodies could actually play and split up the texture accordingly. This led to music that plays with color, voicing (unisons, octaves, thirds), and meter (should we make the 3/4 feel like 6/8?). Things that are important in the first place but that can feel too fundamental when they aren’t at the fore. My @windsync colleagues could fool anyone into thinking it’s easy, though ❤. An amazing etude indeed! by @noahkay9

HAPPY RELEASE DAY! We are so, so happy to say that you can now hear Nadia on all platforms.

This album was a true labor of love. What began as a simple look at 20th century American music grew to deep study of Nadia Boulanger and how we musicians find our voice in the echoes of the past. We hope that this set of pieces humanizes and honors Mlle Boulanger and leaves you as amazed as we are at the breadth of one teacher’s legacy.

It took a village, so hats off to the amazing team below.
