This is the OPEN CALL for the NOCKNOCK ART FAIR 2027 🔥

In March 2027, NOCKNOCK returns for four days filled with unexpected art, design and fashion.
At NOCKNOCK, we work directly with the artists themselves, creating space for meaningful conversations, real connections and direct encounters between artists, collectors and art lovers.

After a successful 2026 edition with over 150 participating artists and more than 15,000 visitors, we’re already looking ahead to another fair full of energy, inspiration and creativity.

How do we present ourselves to the world, and what truly defines us? Through photography, installation, fashion and mixed media, IDENTITY explores the many layers that shape who we are, from memories and culture to appearance and personal experiences.

Featuring a diverse group of artists, the exhibition reflects on self-expression, connection, transformation and individuality. Each work offers a unique perspective on identity, revealing the stories and experiences that shape who we are and who we become.

Meet artist @daav.daav.daav.daav , part of our exhibition IDENTITY @artotel Amsterdam.

Daav is a multidisciplinary artist who explores how we assign meaning and value to objects, challenging our perceptions of power, beauty and status.

In Inflated Power, a plane is transformed into a soft, oversized inflatable, reimagining a symbol of war as something fragile and inviting us to rethink what power truly means.

Beyond this work, Daav questions the obsession with wealth, luxury and materialism in a world driven by consumption. His work challenges the illusion of success through possessions and asks what truly holds value: endless accumulation or giving back?

To create a real-world impact, a percentage of revenue will support ShareMyShare.nl, a platform dedicated to redistributing wealth to charitable causes.

A look back at Studio Sessions: Canvas & Conversations @artotel amsterdam, bringing art, community and conversations together for an evening to remember.

We were joined by @jannekeschrey and @salimahgablan , who shared their perspectives on creativity, art, identity, and what it means to create from your own experience.

The evening continued with a hands-on workshop led by Salimah, bringing everyone together to explore, experiment, and create.

Meet the artist duo @vandecampheesterbeek , part of our exhibition IDENTITY at art’otel Amsterdam.

Patricia van de Camp and Marc Heesterbeek explore the boundaries of portrait photography by deconstructing portraits until identity becomes less important and composition takes over. Through light, shadow and shades of grey, their photographs become abstract studies of existence, creating a sense of balance and silence.

Last night, we hosted Studio Sessions: Canvas & Conversations at NOCKNOCK STUDIO @artotel Amsterdam.

We were joined by @jannekeschrey and @salimahgablan for an open conversation about creativity, art, identity, and creating from personal experience.
Afterwards, Salimah guided everyone through a hands-on workshop, where collage, paint and stencils came together and everyone could explore their own way of creating.

What if a landscape could capture a feeling?

@annaforsterart is a Swedish abstract artist whose work explores the space between landscape, memory, and emotion. She paints what things feel like rather than what they look like, drawing inspiration from aerial photographs, topographic lines, organic forms, and the feeling of being both small and deeply connected to the world around us.

Working with oil stick on linen canvas, Anna builds her paintings layer by layer, adding and obscuring marks and allowing earlier decisions to remain visible or disappear. 👀

Her paintings invite you to take your time, move closer, and discover your own interpretation rather than offering a single explanation.

Meet artist @salimahgablan , her work explores identity, memories, emotions, and the way we experience the world around us.

she brings together fragments of the self with curiosity, humour and a sense of play.

On 7 October, Salimah will take us into her creative practice during a guided, hands-on workshop, inviting participants to explore their own identity and creative expression through painting and collage.

The evening will also feature a panel talk with @jannekeschrey , entrepreneur and creative director.
Together, they’ll open up a conversation around identity, art and the stories we carry with us.

On Wednesday 7 October, @jannekeschrey joins us at art’otel Amsterdam for a free panel talk with @salimahgablan about creativity, art and identity.

Janneke is a creative director and founder of House of Récit, where she helps brands and creatives shape and tell their stories. With a background in fashion, photography and art, she is also the creative partner of photographer Bastiaan Woudt and co-founder of 1605 Collective and 1605 Magazine.

Together with exhibiting artist Salimah Gablan, Janneke will explore different perspectives on creativity, identity and the stories behind the work we create.

The talk is free to attend and will be followed by a guided painting & collage workshop with Salimah.
