"A swaggering hybrid where twang collides with fuzz-drenched guitars and honky-tonk hooks meet punk-rock urgency" - Glide Magazine

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Excited to finally share our new music video for “Into The Stars”!

This is the second single from our upcoming album “Backslider”, produced by @kphawthorn @fittingroomstudio and coming this winter on @mulekick_productions !

@glidemag described @noconamusic as a band that has “never treated Americana as a fixed destination,” instead blurring the boundaries between country, punk, garage rock, psychedelia, and roots music into a sound where twang collides with fuzz-drenched guitars and honky-tonk hooks meet punk-rock urgency.

“Marrying a jangly ’60s rock sound with indie folk and a touch of country-inflected psych, “Into The Stars” meanders through sonic canyons with its own gallop.”

“A lot of this song came from nights when I was completely exhausted but couldn’t get my mind to shut off. I had been listening to a lot of Chopin’s nocturnes while trying to fall asleep on the road, and one night the melody and chords came to me. I recorded it as a voice note because it wouldn’t leave me alone, and for the next few weeks it kept resurfacing every time I tried to sleep.” — @supernaturalskeleton

Directed by Adrienne Isom
Featuring Georgia Isom (dance & choreography)

Special thanks to Matt Detisch, Natalie Garcia-Mayor, @georgia._isom , and @myramaislinmann for capturing the live footage from one of our favorite nights at the @grandoleecho .

We hope you enjoy it. Let us know what you think. 🌌✨⭐️🛸👽🚀🎸🤘 taken in Los Angeles, California by @noconamusic

“NOCONA has never treated Americana as a fixed destination. Instead, the band has spent its career blurring the boundaries between country, punk, garage rock, psychedelia, and roots music, creating a sound that’s as indebted to Buck Owens and the Bakersfield tradition as it is to Roky Erickson, The 13th Floor Elevators, The Gun Club, The Blasters, Love, and The Flying Burrito Brothers. The result is a swaggering hybrid where twang collides with fuzz-drenched guitars and honky-tonk hooks meet punk-rock urgency.” - @glidemag
