Finally got to travel internationally for work! 🛫😁

Got to go to Mexico City for a couple weeks and I had such a fantastic time. Made some new friends, got to try REAL TACOS, and got to see sights I’ve wanting to see since I was a kid! 🥹

Just some pics of me living life.🥰

I feel like for most of my life, at least up until I got my current job, I’ve been hustlin’. Always trying to find the next thing. Always trying to improve myself. Always trying to be productive. However, I feel like I never really knew how to rest properly. When I moved to Baton Rouge 4 years ago, I honestly had no idea where my life was heading and I felt like I needed to get out the city ASAP, but that didn’t happen, and I’m glad it didn’t. Being here has given me the opportunity to learn how to slow down and enjoy the small things in life (still working on it 😭). I made friends and found community that I never could imagine finding when I first arrived. I’m still living life, but sometimes it’s just nice to breathe as well. Learning to rest, and in turn loving myself, is not an easy task. 💖

Living in these times is tough, but remembering the love I have for my family, friends, and community, and the love they have for me, helps me get through it.🫂 A black woman jam timing at a roller derby game. by @noctflower_

2024 so far photo dump!

Realized that I haven’t posted this year and I needed to update y’all lol.

Slowly carving out the life I want while having fun along the way in this era of my life.

My fav 2023 pics of me!

Since last year, I’ve been challenging myself to take more selfies and to appreciate my physical appearance more than usual. I did a lot of experimenting this year (compared to other points in my life) and I think some of the pics turned out nice! Happy 26th birthday to me! Oh gosh, I’m finally in my late twenties…😨😨😨

This celebration has been special to me in 2 ways:

1) This is the first birthday party I’ve had since 2019, my 22nd birthday. Life after college hasn’t been easy, especially after going through a pandemic, but I’m starting to figure some things out about my life and what I want out of it. For those who don’t know, I’ve lost some close family members over the past couple of years and them not being here anymore has been hard to accept, but my family and friends have helped me to get back up and keep moving forward.

2) When I was a small child, I never thought I would make it past the age of 25, mainly due to the portrayal of black people on the news and media. Making it to 26 is a huge milestone because I’m proving to my younger self that we don’t have to just survive, but we can live and thrive! 💖💖💖

I can feel that this year will bring many new changes for me, and I’m (somewhat) ready to take them on! 💖✊🏾🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ by @noctflower_

Happy National Coming Out Day 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️!!!!

I wasn’t going to post anything but I decided to at the last minute 😅. The first 2 pics are from 2017 where I just came out as non-binary, and overall it wasn’t a great time. School was stressing me out and I felt distant from my family. I had no idea where this new identity was taking me, but I knew I felt it deep inside for so long and I couldn’t hide it anymore, no matter what the consequences would be.

Yesterday my depression was getting to me but my sister reminded of how far I’ve come in the past couple of years. I’m out of school, I’m closer to my family more than ever, and even though I’m not where I want to be, I like how I look in the mirror.

I’m saying all of this to say that if you want to change something in your life, go for it. It’s not going to be easy and a lot of people may be against your dreams, but if it makes you happier, then it’ll be worth it. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout or at some point in my journey. To more joy and peace in the future! 😊💖 by @noctflower_

Johnson, passed away this Saturday and we are holding a wake and funeral for him on Friday and Saturday respectively.
