Guess what happens if you surround yourself with a minimum of 10 candles? Nothing except you’re surrounded by the light of centuries before us, and even though it might seem darker, your brain becomes calmer, and you become more creative without even realizing it. There’s just something about working by candlelight, reading by candlelight, writing by candlelight… That makes you feel like you’re important. It makes you feel like you have pennies to your name and the weekly boarding house you’re living in isn’t going to keep allowing you to stay there if you don’t finish this manuscript by the end of the month. And you spend most of your days walking around, sitting in cafés, different parks around the city, people watching, over hearing conversations, and then you get back to your room that’s located all the way in the attic, which you love by the way. And you write, or you read, or you create, for a minimum of eight hours a day. And that’s just how life is.

You either go mad because the only thing in your room is a bed a chair, a paper, pen, and a candle or you succeed at your goal. But I’m a huge believer at setting a tone. And the tone that I like to set is a dim room with lots of candles and things that smell good.

I have an intense sense of smell, like I can smell decades before me, and if something is awful or I taste something bad or I smell something bad than that’s all I notice. It’s distracting. The best way to make sure that doesn’t happen is to just like candle after your candle after your candle after candle after your candle. And don’t worry you don’t have to like pull them out at the same time or anything. It’s not your birthday. But I do recommend blowing them out and not leaving a room with candles still lit because I did almost late multiple ceilings on fire before.

I’ve had a fever for two days now and instead of lying in bed and rotting away I decided to make something out of it. I’ve always wanted to learn how to book bind. How cool it would be to just be able to take a couple of pieces of paper, a needle and thread and voilà. Now you have a tiny notebook that you can do whatever you want with.

In this case, I’m going to make mini collages to fill this eight page little book during these next few days. And even though this notebook is absolutely not perfect ( I totally see where I’ve messed up) it was a great learning experience, and it made being sick a lot more enjoyable.

As long as I can see the cyclical nature of life, then that means I am still where I’m supposed to be. Especially
as the seasons change, the world around us is about to die… I don’t really wanna go with it this year.

Are you afraid of the dark? Of the unknown? Of what’s behind the door?

Or is it the fear that wakes up with you every morning and goes to bed with you every night?

The one that reminds you of that last partner who wouldn’t take no for an answer. It slowly pushes you to the edge of a cliff, where you look down at how beautiful everything is, and how small.

Then reality hits.

You’re still sitting in the same spot you’ve been in all morning, and the same blank page is staring back at you.
That’s the fear: making something no one will like.

The algorithm is the final boss of social media, and it decides who gets seen.

KILL THE FINAL BOSS OR DIE WITH YOUR ART.

So what do you do? I do the only thing I can. I look that boss in the eye and do the exact opposite of what he wants. Before long, he’s gone from my head, and all that’s left is the work.

This time it isn’t sugarcoated. It’s not for everybody, and it was never meant to be. It’s made the way I want to make it.

So what if I ended up in a spooky scary house to figure that out? I walked out with a lot of cool art and some new friends. 😱👁️😱🥀🥀🥀

BE THE BLACK SHEEP. Be weird. Be misunderstood. Be ignored. Be laughed at. But whatever you do, don’t let them put you in a box and tie you up with a little bow and throw you to the wolves a.k.a. Life’s algorithm that makes this entire social media network, & world essentially. go round and around and around.

So yeah, sorry, I’m pretty busy… Like all the time. Busy being a menace. Busy gluing down anything I see. Busy cutting up paper and not getting paper cuts. Do you know how mad I bet that makes the 1% ?? Knowing, that I do not get paper clips.? I bet their blood is boiling, and they accidentally trip over themselves and the pot that’s on the stove holding their boiled blood flies through the air lands on their head and before you know it… They need like a skin graft or something. All because we all refused to be any other type of sheep, but a black one. Because if I’m gonna have to be forced into a farm, and bunk with all the sheep… You know damn well I WILL FOREVER BE THE BLACK SHEEP.

Sometimes I just want to post something that has absolutely nothing to do with Collaging because it gets my brain like all fired up. I’m having a good time with myself and I think I’m fucking hilarious and now that my brain mechanical engine is revving… I can go for a walk with my dog, smell the fresh air, feel the wind in my hair, (freshly bleached by yours truly by the way, duh) and be on with my day.

Like I’m gonna come home and I’m gonna get shit done because I feel good about myself. And I know this is an art account, but sometimes singing as if you are Sabrina Carpenter or Ariana Grande, not even like I listen to them or anything. I swear, I’m not just saying that I don’t lol, but like I’m 5 foot like they are except I got a big old butt… No offense girls. But like now, I’m ready to create something with the rest of my day.

Also, I’m pretty sure that my new song “ CHEMICALS, AND CAMO” is absolutely gonna be a one hit wonder. I got a Linktree, hit me up if you’re a producer & you wanna Collab. I got you. I’ll take this and run with it for 15 minutes. But yeah until then I own the rights to this fantastic and catchy ass song.

I found an early-20th-century children’s history book and began pulling apart its preface.
The author explained that history had been shortened for young readers—but also made it clear that African American history, slavery, and African history would not be included because they were supposedly “not relevant” to world history.
Not relevant to world history.
So I used its pages anyway—not to preserve the story it told, but to expose the absence it was built around.

My style and taste as an artist has absolutely been growing and developing, like a tiny being that once needed its caretaker to survive, it is now developing its own skills, wants and desires. What an interesting thing to watch happen. Your own art, made with your own hands - suddenly taking on its own shape and finding a totally new voice and direction that you originally started with. I could talk about my love for collage all day, but I’ll keep this post short ….

I am at the least so grateful to have found a medium that has no “cap”. It is ever evolving - whether through the advancement of technology or through your own ability to source materials and what you are able to do with them once you have them in your hands….i truly believe collaging is a medium that will continue to evolve with humanity and it will also die whenever humanity itself goes extinct. I’m at the awkward phase with my own work where I am not entirely happy with anything I make once it’s finished, but I also understand that this is a very crucial and necessary time in my life in relation to my art. Once I find my groove and hit that vortex - it will be something so similar to the transmutation of the larvae to caterpillar to cocoon to butterfly analogy - that part of me will grow with my art as it finds its place again in this world. How exciting 👁️🥵👁️ also LMAO and me thinking I was gonna keep his post short.
