Cooles Prinzip 🍅

Noëlle Loke @noelle.loke setzt sich in ihren Entwürfen mit alltäglichen Gewohnheiten auseinander. Die Produktdesignstudentin von der @udk_productdesign kombiniert dabei Handwerk mit Technologie und gesellschaftlicher Verantwortung – und legt einen besonderen Fokus auf nachhaltiges, experimentelles Design.

Mit „Tomeo“ entwarf sie ein Tongefäß, das Lebensmittel wie Tomaten, Obst oder Wurzelgemüse mit Verdunstungskühlung frisch hält – ganz ohne Strom. Zwischen zwei Gefäßen liegt eine befeuchtete Sandschicht, der Deckel verteilt das Wasser gleichmäßig und hält den Kühlkreislauf in Gang.

“Tomeo” gibt es ab Ende Januar im AW Newcomer Shop. AW Architektur & Wohnen hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, junge Talente zu fördern und deshalb 2022 den AW Newcomer Shop ins Leben gerufen. Seit 2023 laufen die ersten Kooperationen mit deutschen Designhochschulen.

OUVA

is an outdoor lighting solution designed to meet various lighting needs outside your home. Whether you’re playing ping pong after sunset, illuminating your terrace, or enjoying a romantic dinner in the park, its dual-faced design provides versatile, indirect lighting for multiple scenarios.

OUVA functions as both an overhead light and a floor lamp. In every position, it ensures even, glare-free illumination. Thanks to a magnetic mechanism, the light source can be attached to the lampshade or, when flipped, placed on a flat surface-making it easy to carry wherever needed.

With an app, users can customize the lighting to their preference, adjusting both intensity and color to suit any atmosphere.

2023

Mova, the flexible glasses are designed specifically for sports and outdoor activities, where shock resistance, comfort, and injury prevention are very important. The goal was to create a flexible structure from a strong and supportive material that adjusts to the shape of the head, provides a secure fit, and protects the eyes, even during intense movement.
By experimenting with 3D printing techniques, new ways were explored to combine flexibility with strength and adaptability.

A series of glass objects blown into carbon fiber molds.

In its hot, malleable state, the glass was blown into carbon fiber molds, imprinting the fiber structure onto the glass surface. In some molds, a metal ring was added, causing the carbon fibers to fold more, creating new shapes and textures. These imprints offer various advantages depending on the application: they create captivating light patterns and enhance grip, providing a more comfortable handling experience.

Equilibrio is a standing table trestle made from a 1mm thick steel sheet. The challenge was to create the layout using only one square meter of sheet metal while achieving the best possible stability despite the thin wall thickness. by @noelle.loke

a drinking vessel made from borosilicate glass, designed to keep beverages cool without diluting them. Perfect for iced coffee, juices, sparkling wine, or wine, the cooling is done by ice placed in the lower section of the vessel. Thanks to its two-part design, the ice remains separate from the drink.
