Like Michelle said, nah, I'm out. I came back from an awesome lone trip to a shit-show. Well, not really, a shit-show would probably be funny. I'm trying bluesky until a better, hopefully decentralized social media happens. Mexico was awesome by the way. Warm, with the most amazing hot chocolate (Oaxaca style), full of all of my favorite fruits and juices, "personas de piel", a bunch of revolution feelings in museums, streets and, well, in Trotsky's house. A lot of Latinx Pride too. It fell warm to remember that we are rich as fuck, awesome as fuck, creative as fuck and, in my opinion, with the best food on Earth. It felt cold to come back home though. So I need out of this online fascist shit. I have a lot to read, a lot to write and way more to do from now on. Let me know if you need my phone number or email, otherwise I'll be on blueskye, for now at least🤷🏻‍♀️🖕✊️ taken in Mexico City, Mexico by @noelle.rozo

For the holidays, Ben and I decided to invite our families to spend some time over here with us. We had people from Utah, New York, Texas and mom came all the way from Italy. We had a Brazilian non-religious christmas, tons of food, snow and laughs. I think it was a good idea to end a tense year and start another not-so-smooth one surrounded by true love and warm hugs. It's a good reminder that nobody survives alone and love is so powerful that survives time and distance❤️ Happy 2025 and good fight!✊️ taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @noelle.rozo

On Monday I officially became a citizen of the United States. The ceremony had people from 18 different countries, like Nepal, Argentina, Germany, India, Guatemala, Ecuador, Canada, Iran, Jamaica... everybody with very different paths, different languages, cultures, backgrounds... and it was such a beautiful thing to see all the praise for this multitude, but it really bothered me that that feeling inside of the building of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services is not extended to the outside of its doors. I can sigh in relief for not having to spend thousands and thousands (and thousands) of dollars every year, not having to send pounds and pounds of documents, letters, and forms, nor sleepless nights having to wait in "limbo", a gray area of the Immigration system that nobody knows how to navigate it, and nobody knows for how long you will have to wait in it. But there's no rest for this new citizen while we still have people with a lot of prejudice even though they don't know what the Immigration system here is (nor they understand that most people fleeing here are from countries that the US directly help destroy or impover) and on the other hand, a lot of immigrants who just need help to navigate the system and live well. Now i know the fight is never actually over✊️

Ben had a whole crew along with him to go to vote. The kids made sure he was voting for the right person, not for the mean bully. Warm, sunny and hopeful day💛 taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @noelle.rozo

I finally had the chance to visit Turkey! Since I met Ben he talks about the time he spent in Istanbul, and how much he wanted me to go there to see all the things he wanted to show me. It took us some time, but we made it and I'm glad we finally did! Istanbul is one of those very, very old and therefore, very overwhelming cities. History is in every corner, and you can spend hours going through just a couple of blocks. Ben and I decided to just walk, walk and walk around Istanbul, stopping when we wanted for delicious coffee or amazing food. Turkish people are friendly, warm, and as it turns out, big fans of Brazilians - but not so much of Americans hahahaha I could have easily spent at least one more month just exploring Istanbul, but we will be back to drive around some more! It's always like this for me, I travel to a place that wasn't even on the top of my list, and boom, I'm in love again 😅 The Netherlands, and specifically Amsterdam, never caught my desire, and I definitely had some biased ideas about it. But I was so wrong... Amsterdam is heaven for architecture - I have an absurd amount of pictures of crooked buildings, i absolutely loved them!! -, nature and conscious living. The amount of bicycles- and the respect for them - is tremendous. When you sit by the river, you notice boats that are passing by collecting trash - rarely seen - from the river. The breads and pastries are fresh, light and cheap. The cheeses are amazing. And even the food is simply delicious. And going to Maastricht to start my full back tattoo was just a great plus, it was amazing to experience a smaller town that i probably would have never stopped by if i didnt have a reason to. And on the way there, which took about 3 hours, you only see green and cows enjoying their freedom. I guess that's why I only have lactose intolerance in the USA 🤔 taken in Netherlands by @noelle.rozo

Greece has always been our favorite place on Earth and for the few years that we have been more constantly visiting Europe, an Athens stop is always mandatory. The amazing people and taxi drivers, who are always teaching me more Greek, the fresh, delicious food that you find everywhere - and cheap!! -, the late dinners, the hanging out for hours over coffee and good chats, and also, for us, the resistance to capitalism and usual forms of life and organizing - no, this is not everywhere, but we found our place for discussions, ideas, and counterculture. But this time, we also had to go to Rhodes, the biggest Greek island for our friends' wedding. Thank you Lud and Artem for making us go to Rhodes!!!!! Hahahahaha The Greek vibes filled our days and it was all about love, long-time friends who we don't see often (unfortunately), and tons of food. Efharisto Greece, see you again soon🩵🇬🇷 by @noelle.rozo

I don't know about you, but I get consumed by all the bad things happening all over the world. I internalize the pain and it affects me deeply. So when Allie and I decided, on a whim, to spend a few days in Panama City, I didn't realize how much I actually needed that time. And spending the day in the water, feeling the breeze, smelling the forest and seeing so many cute and interesting animals helped me to be reminded that aside from the ugly, this world is pretty awesome and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to see the good parts 💚 taken in Panama City, Panama by @noelle.rozo

"Sometimes I think: we are so afraid of freedom that we hide behind safeness"

This quick and last minute trip to Panama has been so full of surprises, amazing strangers - now friends, fantastic food, warm people, natural beauty everywhere you look, and colors, many colors. It's a delight to walk through the streets and see the colors - and the human identity on the walls. Latin America has soooo much to offer and teach to the world, and I really wish I could bring everybody to visit what the other America (the continent) has to offer ❤️🇵🇦 taken in Panama City, Panama by @noelle.rozo

Our yearly sunflower front yard was a big failure this year 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ It's been so hot that even watering them twice a day, most of them barely grew :( But few of them around the compound are gigantic and thriving! Go figure 🤷🏻‍♀️ The thing is: even the few ones we have are attracting soooo many bees and birds and other critters that this is a huge win for us already!! 💛 taken in Fiasco Art Center by @noelle.rozo

For my brother's bday, we took a few days to disappear! Well water, almost no internet, bear feet for days, bugs and critters, eagles and baby eagles - and a gigantic nest! -, complete darkness at night, an acoustic guitar in my brother's hands, lake swims for Drac -he loves it-, kayaking and paddleboarding our way up and down, and a big adventure for Addy - but a not so fun moment for the rest of us! These past few days were all about love, connecting and letting go. Di, I hope we are back at celebrating our bdays together ❤️ I missed you so much all these years, I hope life keeps us closer from now on 😘 by @noelle.rozo

The Fiasco compound is surrounded by colorful flowers 😍 We've been sharing the sunflowers with the deer (not that we agreed with that...), so they are struggling a bit, but it's good to see colors blooming all around❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤 taken in Fiasco Art Center by @noelle.rozo
