Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

God, thank you for this day and thank you for these gifts. Today I opened my eyes and you have allowed me to pursue great things in your name. Guide me through the noise and distraction. Guide me to your doing and allow me to use the gifts you have given me to over come all things.

In your name, Amen.

Joshua 1:8 teaches us that God’s Word isn’t meant to just sit on a shelf—it’s meant to shape how we live. Joshua was told to read, think about, and follow God’s instructions consistently. The idea is that when we keep God’s Word at the center of our decisions, our actions become more aligned with His purpose.

It’s also a reminder that success, from a biblical perspective, isn’t simply about achieving goals. It’s about faithfully following God and trusting His direction, even when we don’t know exactly where the path will lead.

“Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5 (NIV)

I love how honest and hopeful this verse is. It doesn’t say that life will always be easy or that we won’t have moments of sadness, disappointment, or pain. It acknowledges that sometimes we will have difficult nights.
-
But the verse reminds us that the difficult season doesn’t have to be the end of the story. Morning represents a new beginning—a reminder that God can bring joy, peace, and hope after a period of struggle.

Sometimes when we’re going through something difficult, it feels like it’s going to last forever. Psalm 30:5 encourages us to remember that feelings and circumstances can change. What we’re experiencing today isn’t necessarily what we’ll experience tomorrow.
-
The lesson is simple: don’t let a difficult night convince you that there will never be a morning. Keep trusting God, keep moving forward, and remember that sorrow can be temporary while hope can have the final word.

“For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.”
-
This is a warning to Christian’s about people who had entered the church while secretly teaching ideas that went against the Gospel. These people were taking God’s grace and twisting its meaning. Instead of seeing grace as God’s forgiveness that leads us toward a changed life, they were treating grace as permission to live however they wanted.
-
Grace doesn’t mean sin doesn’t matter; it means God offers forgiveness while calling us to follow Him.

He also says these individuals were denying Jesus as “our only Sovereign and Lord.” Their actions weren’t simply about making a few mistakes—they were rejecting Jesus’ authority over how they should live.
-
For us today, Jude 1:4 is a reminder to be careful about what we allow to influence our faith. Not everything that sounds spiritual or uses Christian language is necessarily consistent with what Jesus taught. Don’t use God’s grace as an excuse to stay the same. God’s grace gives us forgiveness, but it also gives us the opportunity and responsibility to grow, change, and live in a way that honors Him.
