Mom,
It’s been a year since you left, and somehow it still feels unreal to say that. Some days I can breathe through it, and other days the missing you feels just as heavy as the first. Today is one of those days where I feel your absence in everything.
I just want you to know how much I appreciate you not just for what you did, but for who you were. Thank you for the love you gave so freely, for the lessons you taught without even realizing it, and for the memories that still make me smile through the tears. We had so many good times, and I hold onto those moments tightly. They’re pieces of you I get to keep forever.
I miss your voice. I miss your presence. I miss the comfort of knowing I could always come to you. Even now, I find myself thinking about what you would say or do, and in that way, you’re still guiding me.
I hope you know how deeply loved you are and always will be. Not a day goes by that I don’t carry you with me in my heart, in my thoughts, in the person I continue to become because of you.
Until we meet again, I’ll keep loving you, missing you, and honoring you in the best way I know how.
Love always,
Your child by @nola_fedora
