I’ve been obsessed with sports since I can remember, after all, I am named after the legendary Hall of Fame MLB strikeout king, Nolan Ryan. Being born in CA, the LA Dodgers are the first pro sports franchise I ever fell in love with, and that has never wavered. I moved to Texas when I was little, and would watch my Dodgers when they came on ESPN’s Wednesday night baseball at 9:35pm (Texas time), and usually fell asleep to the games 😆 the next morning I’d check the newspaper for the score, but they always said ‘late’ cuz of the time difference. The newspaper had to go to print, so I’d wait till the next day, and find we went from a game up on those pesky Giants to a game down and think, as a little kid, f***ing Dodgers!!!! 😅🤣 in the 90’s, the Atlanta Braves and NY Yankees ruled baseball. I never dreamed I’d get to see my Dodgers win a World Series. I was too young to really remember the ‘88 Title. I had heard the stories of course, and I wondered if I’d ever see that greatness. I grew up, now a man and still never knowing what a Championship felt like for my beloved Dodgers, I still followed every season loyally. In 2017, the team looked unbeatable, and we finally made it to the World Series only to lose in 7 games to the cheating Astros. I’m still pissed about that, but the next season, we lost another World Series, back to back losses. Excruciating pain as a sports fan. In 2020, the sh!ttiest year for everyone, my Dodgers won in a shortened season. I cried cuz it was the only good thing that happened to me that year, and my team had finally made it over the mountain. But, it wasn’t a full, 162 game MLB season. Fast forward thru some painful, abrupt post season exits and my Dodgers just completed the 2025 World Series run, and back to back champs at that. Hasn’t been done in a quarter century, which tells you how hard it is to repeat in MLB. The team had to fight, scratch and claw for every out, every run against a resilient Toronto Blue Jays team who clearly looked like a team of destiny. But in sports, a Champion can be outmatched, but they’ll find a way to win. The absolute best World Series I’ve ever had the privilege to witness ❤️⚾️ #MLB #WorldSeries by @nolanryan702

Star Trails over the Oregon Badlands. I was pleasantly surprised at how this little 4 second clip came out. I set my @gopro #Hero13 up on a tripod and then fell asleep in the front seat of my Jeep, weary from the day on the road. About an hour or so goes by and I woke up forgetting I had a camera running for a moment 😆 I cut it not knowing what the footage looked like yet. I didn’t even check it until a few days later. When I saw this clip, it just blew my mind. How small are we down here! Where do I fit in? Why can we see those distant stars and galaxies but have no way of reaching them? If something was to travel from out there to earth, could they breathe our air? How would our specific gravity affect them? Are any of them Transformers? Would their spaceship burn up entering our atmosphere? Are those stars I’m staring at still there? From 65 million light years away, if they look at us thru a powerful telescope can they see dinosaurs? 😆🦖🦕🌎🌌 who knows! What I DO know is that every time I look up at the mysterious night sky, someone much bigger than us created it. The implosion of #TropicanaLasVegas on October 9, 2024 at 2:37AM. One of the most intense, emotional and historically significant events I’ve witnessed living here in Las Vegas, NV for about 17 years. The plan is to build a 1.5 billion dollar MLB Ballpark for the new home of the Oakland A’s on this site. The Tropicana will always hold many a dear memory for those who visited in her glory days. She was 67 years old. The first clip is my own from a watch party I was bartending on the top floor of MGM Grand. I had my phone was pressed against the window and you can see how violent the vibrations were from the explosives 🧨 the second clip is from an MGM Grand engineer who was on the roof at the time.
