Today marks 13 years of marriage, and I’ve learned two things that changed everything for us.
First, put God first. It sounds cliché until you realize marriage isn’t just a contract — it’s a covenant. When God is in the middle, there’s covering, favor, and a grace you can’t manufacture on your own.

Second, be friends. Before me and my wife were ever “husband and wife,” we were friends. And honestly, it’s been our friendship that carried us through the tough seasons. When the emotions weren’t loud, commitment and friendship kept us steady. That friendship became our foundation.

Grateful for 13 years. Grateful for God’s hand. Grateful for the friend I get to walk this life with. ❤️

Every blessing comes with weight.

Every answered prayer brings new demands.
You can’t ask God for increase and then complain about the workload that comes with it.

And the same is true on the other side:
Every setback carries a seed of growth.
Every loss teaches discipline.
Every dark moment reveals something you could’ve never learned in the light.

There are two sides to everything.
The people who win are the ones who stop romanticizing the good and demonizing the bad…
and instead see purpose in both.

If the plate is full, it means you’re eating.
If the season is heavy, it means you’re being strengthened.
If life feels intense, it means you’re being prepared.

Nothing is one-sided.
Embrace both —that’s how you grow.
