In honor of Water Safety Month, we’re launching a fundraising campaign to help protect more children around water this summer.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 by June 30 to provide water safety education and swim lessons for 150 kids.

Every donation makes a direct impact:
	•	$50 helps provide swim gear & supplies
	•	$100 sponsors swim lessons for one child
	•	$1,000 helps change 10 children’s lives through water safety education

Every child deserves the chance to feel safe and confident around water. Together, we can turn awareness into action.

You can donate at the link in bio and share this post to help us reach our goal. Thank you!!!

five years ago, i put oprah on my vision board. i knew that if she ever spoke about water safety, it would save lives, especially in black and brown communities. i dreamed of the day i’d sit with her, maybe even get her into a pool, and talk about the life saving power of swimming.

that dream came true. 💫

i had the opportunity to share yori’s story with oprah. my beautiful son. the reason i do this work. the reason @nomoreunder exists. this moment is beyond surreal for me, it’s sacred. heavy and heartbreaking, because yori isn’t here. but also full of hope, because his life continues to make waves that protect others.

to the oprah team, the researcher who found our story, and everyone working to spread the message of water safety this summer: thank you. from the deepest place in my heart, thank you.

this is for yori. this is for every child who deserves to grow up safe in and around water. 💙🌊

Thanks to the tremendous support of @repberg and the entire team at No More Under, HB 1750 was officially signed into law by @govinslee on April 25, 2023!!!

Also known as “Yori’s Law,” this bill designates May 15th as #WaterSafetyDay in the State of Washington and encourages individuals who work directly with children to share swim education and promote water safety awareness. Our work is reaching incredible heights and changing lives, but it doesn’t end here. This is just the beginning of Yori’s legacy that we hope continues to change and improve the lives of all children and families!

🤔 Can you guess National Drowning Prevention Week and World Drowning Prevention Day have in common? Swipe to find out. ➡️

💡 Answer: Drowning is preventable, but only when prevention is within reach. Communities carrying the highest risk and the fewest resources continue to be overlooked and left out of the conversation.

Let’s start a ripple, right now. Like this post, comment on it, share it to your stories… through many ripples comes a big wave. 🌊 We should all be committed to creating equal swim and water access for everyone!!! 💙

🗣️ It’s National Drowning Prevention Week!!! ✨

☝🏽 Drowning prevention isn’t just about awareness, it’s also about access. According to @cdcgov, 3 in 4 Hispanic adults and 2 in 3 Black adults report never taking a swim lesson and more than 1 in 3 Black adults say they do not know how to swim. These aren’t gaps in ability. They’re gaps in opportunity. 🏊🏽‍♂️

Swipe through for the facts and share this post with your community to increase awareness because everybody deserves access to water safety! 🌊

👋🏽 For today’s Disability Pride Month feature, say hello to a swimmer that has rewritten the record books several times, Erin Popovich! 🏊‍♀️

Born with achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism, Erin started swimming at age 12. Three years later she was competing at the Paralympic Games. At the 2004 Athens Games, she entered seven events and won all seven. By the time she retired in 2010, she had won 19 Paralympic medals, 14 of them gold, across three Games. 🏆

Erin trained at Colorado State University (@csuswimdive), the same campus where we run our Swim Safely Series today. It’s crazy how the water connects all of us, right?! 😎

For the win!!! 👏🏽✨

Keep swiping to learn more about Erin Popovich! ➡️

Greatness in the pool isn’t about a single body type. It’s about access, coaching, and the chance to compete. Every swimmer deserves that chance. 💙🩵

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn lifesaving water safety skills. ✨

None of this would be possible without incredible partners like @a3performance. Because of their support, every child that participated in our Swim Safely Series received a free swim cap and pair of goggles, helping remove barriers to participation and ensuring every swimmer felt prepared and confident in the water.

Together, we’re not just teaching children how to swim, we’re helping break generational barriers, expand access, and create safer communities. Thank you, A3 Performance, for helping make this impact possible. 💙🩵 by @nomoreunder

🗣️ July is Disability Pride Month ✨ and we’re celebrating swimmers who are changing what’s possible in the water. Say hello to our longtime friend, partner, and supporter, Jamal Hill. 🏊🏾‍♂️

At just 10 years old, Jamal was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth, a neurological condition that left him temporarily paralyzed and relearning how to walk. Rising above his personal challenges, he became a two-time Paralympian and earned bronze in the 50m freestyle at the Tokyo 2020 Games. 💪🏽

Through his foundation, Swim Up Hill (@swimuphilldotorg), Jamal is working to teach one million people to swim!!! He’s particularly focused on communities of color and people with disabilities, the same communities too often left out of swim education. 👏🏽

Stealth mode. 👀

Keep swiping for more info on Jamal Hill. ➡️

Disability and water safety intersect in ways we don’t talk about enough. Jamal is helping change that. We’re excited to watch him train and rooting for him to qualify for the 2028 Paralympic Games in his hometown of Los Angeles. 🏅 Follow along as we celebrate more Para swimmers making big waves.

The Fourth of July weekend always brings families out to the water, whether it’s a pool, beach, or a boat. Before heating up the grill or dipping a toe in the water, take a few minutes to swipe and review our tips to set your family up for a safe and fun weekend!

1. Designate a Water Watcher: A responsible individual solely responsible for watching the water. No phone, no distractions.
2. Wear life jackets: USCG-approved jackets come in all sizes and styles for every body and ability! Skip the arm floaties, they give kids a false sense of security.
3. Keep alcohol and drugs away from supervision: Sober eyes help identify the signs of drowning.
4. Talk About Water Safety: It can be silent, it can be quick.

Safe water days are the best water days. Share these tips with your family and friends before the weekend begins. 💙🩵

We’re just $1009 away from providing providing free swim lessons and water safety education to 150 kids this summer!! 🚨

Access to swim lessons can make a lifesaving difference, but for many families, those opportunities remain out of reach. We’ve already provided more than 4,000 free swim lessons this year, but the need continues to grow. More than 600 families are currently waiting for access to our programs.

Every donation helps us move closer to our goal and closer to a future where every child has the opportunity to feel safe, confident, and capable in and around water.

Any donation amount makes a difference.

Help us cross the finish line by June 30 and give more children access to lifesaving water safety skills.

Donate today at the link in our bio.
