Meet Obi Chinonso Venitius

Pharmacist. Public Health Enthusiast. SDG Advocate.

I was inducted in October 2023, but had already begun the work, leading as faculty president, building monuments and organizing the biggest student networking seminar in COOU to volunteering at a hospital pharmacy after graduation.

In Feb 2024, I began a personal challenge.

💡 ONE OUTREACH EVERY MONTH

That challenge has become my lifestyle.
I have served as a volunteer, coordinator, host, and speaker across 50+ causes.

In Jan 2024, I became Program Officer at Timawale Inclusive Health Foundation, and by January 2025, I joined NAFDAC as a pharmacy intern, fighting against counterfeit drugs.

Along the way, I’ve earned certifications from the University of Washington, Aspire Institute (A Harvard College spin off), and more. I’ve also attended major health conferences and workshops that have connected me with brilliant minds and international leaders.

Last Saturday, we took the health outreach to Dape community in Abuja.

From conversations with beneficiaries, I learnt that the nearest government hospital is about 45 minutes away, there is no Primary Healthcare Centre, and over 5,000 people call this community “home”.

In one day, we attended to over 200 people, providing free consultations, medications and counselling.

Though outreaches provide much-needed support, they cannot replace accessible and sustainable healthcare services.

I hope the government is watching❗️

Every Nigerian deserves access to quality and affordable healthcare, regardless of where they live.

These are the reasons we continue to show up, serve and do our best to make impact.

World Sickle Cell Day 2026
#throwback x #oneoutreachamonth

On 20th June, to commemorate World Sickle Cell Day 2026, I travelled to Zuba to join the Red Umbrella Walk alongside @coalitionofsicklecellng the Coalition of Sickle Cell NGOs and other amazing partners.

Together, we walked through the streets and marketplaces of Zuba, raising awareness about Sickle Cell Disorder, encouraging people to know their genotype, and advocating against the stigma faced by those living with SCD.

It was an impactful experience filled with meaningful conversations and shared insights. I’m grateful to the organizers and partners for the opportunity to be part of this important cause.

Young Pharmacists in Professional Excellence (YOPPEX) 6.0

On August 8, I was the host and MC for YOPPEX 6.0😁

We had meaningful discussions about the future of pharmacy and shared fresh perspectives for professional growth.
We even had conversations around the environmental impact of plastic bags in retail pharmacies reminding us that meaningful change starts with asking the right questions.

With leaders from the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management, Primary Healthcare Board, and other sectors in attendance, I was truly humbled to be at the centre of it all.

Judging from the reactions and feedback, we all had a great time and I did it looking very FLY😎✨

Safe Delivery Kit Project
#oneoutreachamonth - August

Today, @tw_inclusivehealthfoundation , in collaboration with @rcabuja Lugbe VON, reached pregnant women at Jahi II Primary Health Centre, Abuja, providing Safe Delivery Kits to 50 beneficiaries.

The project aims to help reduce maternal and newborn complications associated with unsafe delivery materials, with a structured plan to monitor its IMPACT over the coming months.

This beautiful initiative is the brainchild of the phenomenal @bukolaomowale , and I’m honoured to contribute as the Program Officer at TIHF.

We’re not just providing kits, we’re investing in safer deliveries. ❤️

World IVF Day 2026 “Walk for Hope”
#oneoutreachamonth

On July 25, 1978, the world welcomed Louise Brown, the first baby born through IVF, a breakthrough that has since brought hope to millions of families.

This year, I joined @reprocareclinic for the “Walk for Hope” to raise awareness about infertility and challenge the myths and stigma that still surround it in many of our communities in Africa, especially Nigeria.

Infertility is a medical condition, not a cause for shame. It’s okay to talk about it, seek help, and hold on to HOPE.

I also celebrate embryologists at Reprocare and all over the world, for devising solutions and bringing hope to people.

Neurodiversity and Disability Inclusion.
#oneoutreachamonth

May looked a little different, and I loved every bit of it.

As the Program Officer at @tw_inclusivehealthfoundation , I coordinated a partnership with @_daughterofellen for the “Walk for Neurodiversity and Disability Inclusion” on 30th May.

Together, we walked through the streets of Abuja, engaging hundreds of people in markets and public spaces, advocating for a simple truth: neurodivergent persons and people living with disabilities deserve the same rights, opportunities, and inclusion as everyone else.

Our team also provided first aid support throughout the walk, ensuring participants stayed safe.

There’s so much room to make a difference.

World Malaria Day 2026
#oneoutreachamonth

Back to Bwari community which I visited on World Malaria Day 2024 making this even more meaningful to me.

I was responsible for recruiting fellow healthcare professionals to volunteer, while also consulting, dispensing medications, and counseling hundreds of beneficiaries.

From listening to them, I found out that many residents had little confidence in the healthcare services available at their nearest government-owned facility.

Fortunately, some political aspirants were part of this outreach, and we challenged them to make quality healthcare a priority for their constituents.

Healthcare is more than treating illnesses, it also means advocating for better systems and policies.
