This is probably how we’d look like together 🙂

We would have regular meet up and catch up
We would talk about how your restaurant is going
We would laugh about random customers who show up

I imagine us sharing tips and tricks on businesses we’re working on
And I’d share my adventures
Work on our travel plans together

We would have our shared lists of cafes to visit
Our favorite places to hang out together

I think you would love Da Nang!
But I’m not even sure if you would leave the island… probably not 😛
I also think you would love Phuket!
I think you would be a much better motorbike driver than me, well I don’t even have a license hahaha

Or maybe by now, you already have your own Pet Cafe
We would argue if it will be a cat or dog cafe
I would give up and just say maybe just get a zoo lol

We are both stubborn in our own ways
Which is mostly good, but sometimes bad too

It’s just cutesy crazy,
sometimes I forget.

Like that time I was on my way back,
just a few days after you left for heaven…

and for a few seconds,
I honestly thought I’d still see you at home

i think you would be cool hostel hopping with me
and maybe we’d have remote jobs together
but then you would miss the kitchen so much 🤔

i’m sorry i haven’t finished architecture yet
but no worries, i’ll get there soon
i think i’m learning things, just a different way than how we planned

oh by the way, laughing at things seem to be super helpful!
you are so right, it’s my go-to solution on most things
turns out you can make fun of almost everything, even when a situation could make you feel nervous

i wanted to tell you that i’m trying…

trying to build a life we both would’ve laughed so much in.

sometimes it still hurts that you only exist now in imagined conversations, made-up café dates, and little “what ifs” in my head.

but if love could stretch across timelines, countries, and heaven itself
i think you’d know.

i still look for you in sunsets, in beach cafés, in funny customers, in random life updates i wish i could send you.

and i think somehow, in ways i can’t explain yet,
you’re still here for all of it anyway.

It was gonna be Kazakhstan. 🇰🇿

Heck, it was actually gonna be a one week vacation only to meet a friend… in Bangkok.

The round trip flight turned to a next country ticket, applying a 90-day Visa in between.
Vietnam was the chosen one.
I loved the first time i was in Da Nang.

Then it was gonna be Kazakhstan > Kyrgyzstan > Uzbekistan > Georgia

What a crazy turn of events… somewhere along the way, i found Colombia. 🥹

Now I haven’t been out of the country yet
And I am already planning my return.

I could remember the days i felt so alone
The language barrier is crazy to me
Even if most words i hear when i was a kid
And some words like kuchara tinidor would work when some uber bike guys would ask what words you know just to throw them off 🤪

We have lunes martes miyerkules…
But now i also know juernes too! 🤭

Man, i still have more than a month to see this kalye
But i am already saving every bit, every corner of it in my mind

And the friends i met along the way
I would surely save time to do chismisito with them!

This day has been an extra emotional to me

But absolutely grateful in everything along the way 🥹

So id say… if you are thinking about it
Just go for it

Who knows, your bffs you can just meet somewhere there at a panaderia 😉

June 12, 2026 🇵🇭

Tonight, I celebrated Philippine Independence Day in Bogotá.

I almost didn’t go.

I wasn’t feeling 100%, and part of me wanted to stay in and call it a night.

I’m glad I didn’t.

The longer I travel, the more curious I become about what it means to be Filipino.

Not because I’ve been away from home.

But because meeting people from different cultures has a way of making you look back at your own with fresh eyes.

Tonight, I found myself sharing Filipino food with Colombians, Mexicans, travelers, locals, and people who were simply curious to learn more about our culture.

One thing that made me smile was meeting a couple of Mexicans who were already familiar with Filipino food through Filipino friends they met while studying in the United States.

There we were: Filipinos, Colombians, and Mexicans sharing Filipino food in Bogotá while a FIFA World Cup match played on the TV and fútbol conversations filled the room.

Travel has a funny way of creating moments like that.

The farther I go, the more I realize that culture isn’t something you leave behind when you board a plane.

You carry it with you.

And somehow, thousands of miles away from the Philippines, home felt a little closer tonight.

Some people see a coffee shop.

I see possibilities.

A place where ideas get tested.
Where businesses get built.
Where friendships begin.
Where dreams get a little more real.

Lately I’ve been realizing that the life I’m trying to create isn’t made of huge milestones.

It’s made of ordinary evenings like this.

A cup of coffee.
A laptop.
A little bit of courage.
And showing up again tomorrow.
