Father’s Day feels different when you’ve lived long enough to look back at moments like this one. A message to a young me.. 💯💪🏾

Hey, young man...

I know you’re tired. I know you’re carrying more responsibility than you ever imagined. You’re a sophomore student-athlete trying to balance classes, practices, expectations, and now a tiny human being in your arms. You’re wondering if you’re ready.

Truth is, you don’t think you are.

From where I stand now as a 50-year-old grandfather because of the little boy you’re holding I want to tell you something you need to hear.

Give yourself some grace.

You won’t get everything right. You won’t always have the answers, the money, the time, or the confidence. There will be days when you question whether you’re enough.

But you are.

Not because you’re perfect, but because every day you keep showing up. You love that boy with everything you have, even when what you have doesn’t feel like much. What you couldn’t provide in resources, you made up for in effort, sacrifice, and love.

And that matters more than you know.

I wish you could see what I see now. That little boy grows into a remarkable man. He becomes someone you admire, someone you’re proud to claim as your son. The values you worried weren’t sinking in? They did. The lessons you tried to teach? They stuck. The love you poured into him? It became part of who he is.

So stop being so hard on yourself.
The kid turns out more than fine.
And so do you.

Waited my turn,
no complaints,
just sharpening steel,
Life subbed me in outta nowhere,
had to prove it was real.

I was that kid sitting on the 🏀 at Chick Webb and so many other basketball courts in Baltimore. I learned patience, humility, hunger, and most important readiness. So when my name was called I didn’t have excuses, only the ability to RESPOND.

55 and officially cruising at the legal speed limit!

Watching my beautiful friend @foxyjoy46 reach this milestone is such a blessing. For 55 years she’s been spreading love, strength, laughter, and prosperity everywhere she goes. An amazing mom, the most giving grandma, and a woman whose heart is as big as her glow.
Some people slow down at 55... but not her. She’s just getting into her lane-happy, blessed, and surrounded by love.
