This was an unexpected surprise for my husband and I. The day we found out, all I could think about is “How we’re gonna do this?”. Between both of us working full time and being back in school, I started to feel overwhelmed by having a baby right now.

Nevertheless, I was comforted by three things. First, God reminded me how He told me that this would be a year of learning to rest in Him, and me embarking on this journey is a way to exercise that “abide”. Second, God spoke to my husband and told him that we’re right where He wants us to be in this season. Then third, it was Psalm 127:3. This child is a gift so we will embrace him as such.

God is covering. God is providing. God is kind. 🌱

Year 25 was one of suddenlies for sure. Suddenlies that fulfilled my heart’s desires and then suddenlies that challenged me to hold tighter to the Father’s hand. Nevertheless, He kept me… as He always does.

I believe the Lord is showing me that Year 26 will be one of embracing His rest. As I welcomed in this new year with my husband, best friend, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, and dad, a state of rest is what I felt.

Posting this for encouragement purposes only.…

I’m sitting here reflecting and crying… per usual. And I got caught up on the fact that He didn’t let me die.

It felt like I was half way losing my mind. Nothing was clicking. The enemy was trying to convince me that there was nothing more for me to enjoy or that would be worth experiencing. And I started to believe him. I didn’t have any hopeful expectations of my future frl.

But God used my community to pull me thru that. And what thought was about to take months to breakthrough, broke thru in a matter of a day. I’m thankful for the people around me, who identified that thing and called it out. The people who spoke life into me and reminded me of the inheritance that I have as His child.

So now my resolve is that there is more and He can satisfy and fulfill me just fine on this side of eternity too.

Although there will be more suffering to experience, God reminded me that there’s joy, peace, and comfort to be had even in the midst of the suffering. And all it’s really doing is developing my character and maturing the Christ-likeness in me.

I had a lot of “firsts” this year. First time performing in a play. First photo shoot. First music video. First podcast interview. First artist showcase. First festival performance. And, first crib. 😮‍💨

Shoutout to everyone I met this year and everyone that was apart of my “firsts”. I appreciate y’all frl 🫶🏽.

Looking back over this year, it feels rewarding. All I can say is “God is kind” 🥲 by @nooneynu
