Hi friends, happy October! 🖤✨ In this house every season is the season of the witch, but since my birthday is in October I allow myself a little favouritism. It’s also the month when I plan to hopefully get back on track! 🖤 back to posting regularly by Oct. 19th latest ✨ working on a re-outlined draft 2 of TLTWW 🍷 draft is of course more… well… delicious, if you know what I mean 🌙 a new delicious comm sometime at the end of this year or early 2027! (Also I’m gonna catch up on all your posts and all the goodness that my evil antidepressants prevented me from viewing, let alone enjoying.) See you very soon, and happy October 💋 p.s. spot something new-font shaped? taken in BOOKSTA by @noonveiled

I don’t make the rules, you’re a Discord colleague — you get exploited (lovingly) for content. It was fun to see how our relatively new group divides itself when faced with some … very serious questions 🤭 #authorsofinstagram #booktrend #bookmeme #amwri̇ti̇ng #bestietag Someone said „my favourite character has a wife, and while I could beat her up, it would be safer to just bring him here”, and you know what, FAIR. I’d last maybe 20 seconds in mine (certainly not past the inciting incident), but I would enjoy every second of existing in that world 🐉✨ I wish I was a discovery drafter, but anything I write without a clear outline becomes an unreviseable, uneditable mess and I have no choice but to outline and start over again. I will be a devout follower of the Excel outline and Notion trackersheet until the day I pass. A simple matter of taste 👅 I love a cinnamon roll but I can’t help but like the messy spice of a morally grey love interest. A combination of both, somehow, is forever the best! This one came with maybe nine million disclaimers, where it’s different depending on if you’re looking at what you prefer to read or collect! For me, I will forever love a trophy hardback, but primarily read ebooks on my K*ndle. (Though I should truly drop the trophy books for the sake of my bookshelf and wallet!) . . . I have no words (and I didn’t allow myself to sit on the line, which is where I TRULY belong, having both tropes in my book)! 🐺 🖤 taken in Book-Tok by @noonveiled

I tried to be serious and cool and whatnot but I made it one slide before the unseriousness made an appearance; Zora is twenty years old, you can't blame her for being a little stupid. (I'm 26 and you could technically blame me, but don't.) ⋅───⊱༺ ✦ ༻⊰───⋅ THE LAMB AND THE WOLF WITHIN’s Zora has been raised in a convent and taught that its severe laws of piety, austerity and penance will bring her into the light of the Nine and grant her the knowledge she needs to control her gifts. Through repeated failure and a rash decision made in the name of sisterly love, she begins to discover that the rules she’d followed all her life hadn’t just been useless: they’d been preventing her from becoming what she was meant to be. The creature within is one of flesh and blood, with no regard for human logic or her own reservations – the heart wants what it wants. THE LAMB AND THE WOLF WITHIN is a NA/A spicy and darkly amusing gothic romantasy exploring vampirism as a metaphor for female sexuality and the ethical implications of magic as a tool of control, blending elements of horror, Slavic folklore and classic romance elements. Within you will find: 🖤 a semi-feral, bitter FMC 🖤 salt-mine Convent as a setting 🖤 Slavic folklore, creatures & gods 🖤 a tug of war love triangle (not a why-choose) 🖤 criticism of torment under the guise of piety 🖤 an exploration of how trauma is passed down among women in the family ⋅───⊱༺ ✦ ༻⊰───⋅ 🗝️ Fantasy Romance | Book Recommendations | Book Rec | Fantasy Romance Books | Spicy Fantasy Romance | Fantasy Romance Tropes | Gothic Romance Books | Romantasy | Spicy Romance | Gothic Fantasy | Dark Fantasy | Vampire Romance | New Adult Fantasy 🏷️ #romantasy #amwriting #authorsofig #booktrend #booktok by @noonveiled

At last, the -ber months! Summer has flown, as has most of the year (feels like my October birthday was just yesterday), and we have finally arrived in Autumn, a season in which us authors seem to thrive. With that, though; be kind to yourself. It's okay if there is no magical change, no spike in productivity. Focus on routine, on the groundwork, and the effects will come after. 🦇 If you're new here, hello! I'm Addie, a fledgeling indie author drafting what will (hopefully) be my debut; a dark, gothic 'romantasy' with horror themes! If you like haunted settings, Slavic folklore/mythology and hot red-heads, then you have come to the right place. 🏷️ #romantasy #booktrend #gothicfantasy #kindachic #booktok by @noonveiled

; Yesterday, I shared that one of my big goals for September is to work through the pile of craft books I've optimistically hoarded over the last year, telling myself I'll read them "once my zero draft is out of my system" ... and now it is! Most of these are recommendations from dear friends whose words I trust with my life, and I am always open to hearing your thoughts on the existing collection (or any additions you feel I should make!) 🦇 If you're new here, hello! ; I spent most of August either on holiday (good thing) or in a haze of nasty side-effects caused by new medication (not good!), but recovered just enough at the end of the month to make some progress. I can't wait to get TLTWW to a point where I can share it with you all, and the lovely few of you that have been asking "is it ready yet" fuel me more than you can imagine ❤️ ⋅───⊱༺ ✦ ༻⊰───⋅ THE LAMB AND THE WOLF WITHIN’s Zora has been raised in a convent and taught that its severe laws of piety, austerity and penance will bring her into the light of the Nine and grant her the knowledge she needs to control her gifts. In case you didn't know, I grew up in a millenarian, apocalyptic sect that left me with a f*cked view of pleasure and s*x (among other things!) so the recent discourse has me quite pissed, to say it politely. Since it apparently needs to be said, here are a few reminders: 🖤 Don't like, don't read. Putting a book down is free. ❤️ The word "clean" implies that books containing s*x scenes are "dirty", employing the negative connotation of the word. "Closed-door" is right there, thanks! 🖤 There is nothing wrong with desire, passion and pleasure; they are elements of human life. To deny them or brand them as wrong is more harmful than accidental exposure before one is ready. ❤️ Imposing your own views (regardless of their origin / perceived rightness) on ALL literature / readers is a direct pathway to censorship, and you cannot guarantee that censorship won't eventually swing against what you consider good, too. I also feel like if you do not wish to write or read explicit scenes, or wish to remove them from your work, that's fine. The problem begins with the performance of moral superiority, and the portrayal of er*tic lit. as corrupting, impure, or wrong in some way. ⋅───⊱༺ ✦ ༻⊰───⋅ Topically, TLTWW's story revolves around a twenty-year old Convent girl Zora, discovering that the laws of purity she was raised with were put in place to control her (and her budding magic) - the very first brick in a pyramid of lies, control and manipulation spanning centuries. ⋅───⊱༺ ✦ ༻⊰───⋅ 🗝️ Fantasy Romance | Book Recommendations | Book Rec | Fantasy Romance Books | Spicy Fantasy Romance | Fantasy Romance Tropes | Gothic Romance Books | Romantasy | Spicy Romance | Gothic Fantasy | Dark Fantasy | Vampire Romance | New Adult Fantasy 🏷️ #romantasy #amwriting #gothicfantasy #booktrend #booktok by @noonveiled

; I made a variation of this post before, but I have a new rotation this time around. Of these three, two are in TLTWW, and the third... well, lets just say there's a VERY fun project somewhere in the depths of my files that's just waiting to be picked up. What are your fave tropes? Do we have any in common? ⋅───⊱༺ ✦ ༻⊰───⋅ THE LAMB AND THE WOLF WITHIN’s Zora has been raised in a convent and taught that its severe laws of piety, austerity and penance will bring her into the light of the Nine and grant her the knowledge she needs to control her gifts. In real life, I would probably hate Kostya's guts from the moment I laid eyes on his messy-haired, genius-prodigy self, but this is not real life and instead of triggering my academic competitiveness, he is so. Starting to feel like a broken record at this point, but not all representation is good representation, and careless inclusion (especially of marginalised groups!) can do much more harm than good. Do your research. Talk to people who have lived what you are writing about. Hire a sensitivity reader. Show a little care for the people you call yourself an "ally" to. #writing #authorsofinstagram #writingreminder #tiredofthisbs #author by @noonveiled

; TLTWW's Zora is just 20 years old, and like many 20-year-olds, she makes some Extremely Questionable Decisions, but all's well that ends well, and if it isn't, then it's just Future Mom Lore, isn't it? ⋅───⊱༺ ✦ ༻⊰───⋅ THE LAMB AND THE WOLF WITHIN’s Zora has been raised in a convent and taught that its severe laws of piety, austerity and penance will bring her into the light of the Nine and grant her the knowledge she needs to control her gifts.
