One of our special surprises at The Noor Ball was the world premiere of our new mini-documentary. Produced by @zanniproductions, the short film delves into the impact that Noor has had on its artists throughout the years. It also provides an insider look at the Highlight Reading Series, our annual festival of new-play readings and workshops, and illuminates our culturally specific approach to new play development. You can watch it here! by @noortheatre

Join us for a Noor Night for WAITING FOR LEFTY at Classic Stage Company on Wednesday, November 4! This contemporary take on Clifford Odets' classic features community members Tala Ashe, Raffi Barsoumian and Sahar Milani. Use the code NOORNIGHT for generously discounted tickets!

About the play:
One room. One choice. One movement. Exploited, exhausted, and pushed to the edge, the taxi drivers of Depression-era New York City gather to make a choice that will change their lives forever. But as they wait for their leader, the tension reaches a fever pitch. Marking the directing debut of acclaimed actor Steven Pasquale, this innovative production uses music and movement to breathe fresh life into Clifford Odets’ 1935 masterpiece, transforming the theater into a high-stakes union hall.

Both then and now, speaking truth to power can come at a deadly cost. Don’t miss this visceral collision of classic social protest and contemporary sound. The clock is ticking – are you with us? taken in Classic Stage Company by @noortheatre

2016, London. Seventeen-year-old Karya is navigating her brother’s unresolved disappearance. When her mother’s outrageous theory about his whereabouts starts to gain traction, Karya decides to put it to the test. With her best friend, she devises a twisted online experiment, setting a hook in the darkest corners of the internet. But what begins as a search for answers quickly spirals into something more sinister than she ever expected. By turns sharp, tensely funny, and tender, Fish is a darkly comedic coming-of-age story about grief, girlhood and games that go too far.”

Alyssa May Gold and Yasmin Ranz-Lind totally not getting into trouble.
